SirsiDynix Library Users of Illinois (SLUI) Annual Meeting & Program on May 7th at Downer Grove Public Library

Hello SWAN Libraries--- I am passing on this message from the SLUI group. I would encourage libraries to consider sending a member of their staff or management team to the event on May 7th. Villa Park Closed 3/26-4/14 for Renovations

The Villa Park Public Library will be closed to the public beginning on Tuesday, March 26 and will tentatively reopen Monday, April 15. Visit their website for additional updates. http://www.vppl.info/buildingprojectupdates/ Library staff will be working during this time, but the library items will not be available for holds or circulation during the public closure.

Dolton Re-opening & Open House

The following thank you and invitation is from Allyson Withers, Library Director, Dolton Public Library District - I would like to personally thank all of our 'sister-libraries' who have assisted the Dolton Public Library District patrons during our library interior renovation project. The library will be having a Grand Re-Opening for the public and community on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Hopefully, many we be able to come and view the new interior. Although, library staff will be setting up items and getting acclimated and transitioning to the new library, it will not officially be open for business until Monday, April 8th, 2019. Again, I would like to thank all my colleagues for their assistance and patience during this period. Congratulations on the reopening Allyson, Dolton Public Library District staff, and the community. Call for Session Ideas for SWANx2019!

Hi Library Staff! Save the Date! Friday, August 16, 2019 is our annual event, which we call SWANx or SWAN Expo (we used to call it SWANstravaganza but that is really difficult to type). SWANx19 event planning is underway, but we need your help. The theme for this year's event is a SWAN Expo which will be a showcase on how libraries are enhancing their communities. Our event planning group is looking for topics on interesting ways you engage with the community you serve. This could be event programs, community outreach, technology based tools, or collaboration with local school districts.
