Hello everyone, The election for two seats on the 7 member SWAN governing board has concluded with 63 participating voters. Jennifer Cottrill, Library Director, Midlothian Public Library, reelected Samantha Johnson, Executive Director, Roselle Public Library, elected Special thanks to Ridgeway Burns, Library Director Itasca Community Library, and Zach Musil, Library Director, Tinley Park Public Library, for participating in the election. Last day for SWAN Board election

Hello library directors/administrators-- Just a final reminder that the SWAN Board election is in its last day, and the e-ballot will close at midnight tonight. There are four candidates running for two seats that will begin a three-year term in July 2023. The login and password was sent to 100 library directors (or interims depending) on May 8th via email through the myDirectVote platform, and a second reminder email was sent directly to the remaining voters May 23rd. Access to the ballot requires the unique login and password to view the e-ballot and written statements of the four candidates. 2024 Public Web Browser license available from RAILS

SWAN Member Libraries: RAILS has made the 2024 license key for Public Web Browser (PWB) available on their website. If your library uses PWB, please visit the RAILS Deals & Discounts page<https://railslibraries.org/system/files/deals/2023/100137/FY2023_Public_Web…> to access the new license key. (L2 Login Required) The current PWB license expires after June 7, 2023. You do not need to wait for the current license to expire before updating the license key. The 2024 license is valid through June 7, 2024. Unique Management Weekly Reports

Greetings, All! As some of you have noticed, this week patrons sent to Unique Management for their "Gentle Nudge" process no longer appear with a user status of COLLECTION. Instead, they carry a status of REFERRED, as they have been referred to a third-party vendor for additional contact in an attempt to recover overdue materials or collect outstanding fees. This is a small change in word choice to preserve patron goodwill and foster a more positive service environment.
