This morning around 11:15AM, we experienced an outage of the SWAN VPN network. During this outage, WorkFlows was not accessible.
As of 11:30AM, we have resolved the issue and all VPN tunnels are back online. If your library continues to experience issues accessing WorkFlows, please proceed in Offline Mode<https://support.swanlibraries.net/documentation/64828> and call our emergency support at 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542).
We'll continue to monitor the situation throughout the day and will post any additional information to the Known Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/node/85240>.

SWAN Library Directors & Administrators-
The vote completed at the end of the day yesterday with an approval for allowing the year-2 EBSCO database group purchase with an option for libraries to op-out. We will now move forward with libraries officially opting out of the EBSCO database group purchase.
The online form below is for libraries that wish to opt-out. This form will need to be completed by end of day February 28th. Those public libraries that do not op-out will be automatically included in the year-2 renewal.

I will post revised EBSCO pricing on Monday, February 22nd and then again on Friday, February 26th. The final EBSCO pricing will be posted on Monday, March 1st. I will do my best to try to make the SWAN EBSCO pricing clear for those that need to see the amount for your library in order to make a decision.

Your electronic ballot is now ready and will be sent to your individual email accounts with unique logins and passwords contained in that email. SWAN is using myDirectVote which is a platform designed for secure online voting. Your votes will be collected and tabulated, and those individual votes will be publicly posted after the ballot is closed. This will ensure Illinois OMA compliance.

SirsiDynix will be performing planned maintenance on the Enterprise catalog server on Wednesday, January 27th at 11:00 p.m. This maintenance will require downtime throughout the process and is expected to take no longer than an hour, so the impact will be minimal. We'll be posting a banner to Enterprise one day prior to the outage to alert patrons. Unless complications arise, no further communication will be issued for this outage.

We believe the issue was caused by a recent change to the EBSCO Novelist service. After disabling the service, the outages and excess load on the Symphony server subsided. We will be leaving the EBSCO Novelist service disabled throughout the weekend to maintain server stability and follow-up with EBSCO to troubleshoot further on Monday. We've created a new Known Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/node/84820> to track the outage of EBSCO Novelist.
