Hi everyone,
Happy Friday!
SWAN now has an enhanced process for loading the records we receive from OverDrive and Baker and Taylor. We are now able to load item records for each subscribing library as we load the bibliographic records. Individual libraries will no longer have to add item records after titles are loaded.
Over the next week, we will begin loading these enhanced batches of records from eRead Illinois, Media On Demand, eMedia Library and My Media Mall. We have included holdings for all libraries on current subscription lists supplied by OverDrive and eRead Illinois. If there are discrepancies, please contact me and I will update the information.
When the first batches are loaded, please do a spot check of the holdings for your library to ensure that the item information is correct.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you.

Subject: [SWANcom] Novelist Select enhanced content to be added to SWAN catalog Sept. 22nd
Everyone -
Beginning on Sept. 22nd Novelist Select enhanced content will be added to the SWAN Catalog. Attached is a document highlighting the enhancement for your library staff. In addition to this documentation, we have uploaded to our SWAN YouTube Channel a short presentation for your patrons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcSMFwztc_4 . This video is available now. There will be a link to this presentation from within the catalog implemented on the morning of the Sept. 22nd.
This enhanced content is being provided as part of RAILS support for SWAN and as such is free to all SWAN members. Before adding this content to the current OPAC, SWAN made certain that the Novelist Select product is supported by SirsiDynix and will be available in SirsiDynix Enterprise interface. Enjoy!

Everyone-
Attached is a reminder regarding the importance of every SWAN library and their role in the successful migration of SWAN to SirsiDynix.
Just an update on some general information on training -
We have over 1,800 staff members at our libraries to be trained in various aspects of the SirsiDynix software. All of these SWAN library staff members will have access to the online training component "Mentor" beginning in early November. Workshops throughout the membership on various modules will begin in February and continue through March. We will be announcing more specifics about training as dates and venues are firmed up. Realizing that weather could be a factor in February, training will also be delivered via webinars and YouTube tutorials. We will be using SWANcom as our main communication channel and will be announcing more migration information as it develops. Stay tuned....
If you should have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
