Next week on Tuesday, February 9th at 9:30am the SWAN Board will host a special meeting at RAILS Burr Ridge for those interested in the fiscal year 2017 budget.

As a reminder to all directors/administrators, the FY17 SWAN Membership Fees are frozen at this year's levels as part of a three-year commitment from the SWAN Board. Those fees are included in the packet, just skip ahead to pages 12 and 13 to look up your library membership fees.
The meeting on Tuesday February 9th will be an opportunity to have your questions answered and to provide feedback to the SWAN Board. The SWAN budget and membership fees are approved at the March 3, 2016 Quarterly meeting by roll-call vote of participants. The final budget for approval will be included in the March 3rd Quarterly packet.

As promised as one of the holiday gifts, yesterday we ran for the first time our notices in Spanish and Polish based upon the language preference in your patrons' user record.
At present, we have 2,233 user records with a defined language of Spanish. In addition, we have 23 user records with a defined language of Polish.
As a reminder, a patron's language preference for their notices is defined under the Demographics tab in the "Modify User" wizard. You can start promoting this service to your patrons and updating their records now.
We are planning on adding further languages in the future. If you would like us to investigate adding a specific language, please let me know.
We are presently working on Russian, Ukrainian, and Lithuanian.

SWAN Member Library Staff:
We're currently experiencing an issue with a hanging overnight maintenance report that would affect any cataloging. Until we're able to have that report cleared, we've temporarily halted the WorkFlows service, meaning you will be unable to login to WorkFlows until the issue is resolved.
We hope to have this resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please use offline circulation until further notice.

SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff:
On Sunday evening at 7:30pm, the Symphony Production Server will be taken offline for routine system maintenance. We expect this maintenance should last no longer than 1 hour.
This planned outage will not impact the Enterprise Catalog, however, WebServices features and other WorkFlows functions will be unavailable for the duration of the update.
The following services will be impacted by this outage:
* All WorkFlows/Symphony functions
* Enterprise OPAC Hold and My Account functions
* Enterprise OPAC Item Availability
* Enterprise OPAC Ecommerce
* BookMyne
* MobileCirc
Member libraries will be notified prior to the outage and again when the system updates have finished.

The Woodridge Public Library will be closed from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22 for a staff In-Service day.

The issue is now resolved, and was related to a runaway report format function on the Symphony server. All report functions in WorkFlows, including acquisitions, have been restored.
