Gift #11 - I am happy to announce that the SWAN library membership will participate in a new service called BLUEcloud Visibility. This service is the "holy grail" of library search: once implemented, your library collections will begin to appear in search results performed by anyone using Google, Bing, etc. for authors, musicians, books, music, movie titles. Details on BLUEcloud Visibility can be found using the link to the SWAN support website below. Gift # 9 - Display a user birthdate when using "User Search Helper"

Gift #9 --- Have you ever thought when searching for a patron "it would be so helpful if I could see the birthdate of this patron"? This can easily be accomplished --just open a ticket at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> and request that the Birthdate column be enabled in the User Search Helper. This additional column when searching is not only a time saver, but a way to accurately retrieve the correct user record. The birthdate column will be visible in "Display User", "Modify User", "User Registration" and "Copy User". This can be of great assistance when you are searching a common name. Attached is a document outlining a procedure that can be used when a patron reports an RB/ILL item damaged or lost before the bill has been generated. Announcement: Rebecca Malinowski

SWAN Membership: I am sad to announce Rebecca Malinowski is leaving SWAN. I am happy to say she is moving to another library consortium! She will be joining CCS as their new Member Services Manager. Her last day will be Thursday, January 21. Suffice to say with everything underway with post-migration projects and two new libraries joining us, we will work to fill the SWAN Special Projects Coordinator position as quickly as possible. SWAN Member Library Staff: The Web Services migration is complete, and Enterprise services are fully restored. We're still troubleshooting ongoing issues involving E-Commerce, however. Tonight between 9pm-10pm, we plan on migrating our Symphony Web Services to the latest version, with hopes that this will resolve ongoing E-Commerce issues and improve other various functions within Enterprise. While an hour of downtime is scheduled, we're hoping the actual downtime will be less than 10 minutes. Tonight's downtime will affect the following services... - Enterprise My Account functions - Enterprise library item availability - Enterprise payments - BookMyne - MobileCirc During the downtime, Enterprise will remain online and items will be searchable. Additionally, Symphony WorkFlows will be unaffected by this downtime. A banner will be displayed on the Enterprise homepages to alert patrons of the outage.
