Registering for specific sessions and menu options at July 22 Summer SWANstravaganza

SWAN Member Libraries, We're thrilled at the excitement building around our July 22 user event, our first annual Summer SWANstravaganza. Our event registration page is now open, where you can buy tickets at $28 each, which will cover the cost of food for the day. SWAN is finalizing menu options with the vendor, and will be sending out a follow-up email to event registrants with options for them to select meal choices, as well as session preferences. We plan to scale the sessions by registrant interest to make sure that you'll be able to attend the trainings and sessions that are most important to you. The follow-up email will be sent to registrants as soon as the information becomes available. Thank you for your patience as we prepare for our first user event-we're so excited to host the membership this summer as we strive to improve library services! SWAN Staff Announcement: New Bibliographic Services Manager

SWAN Libraries: After a rigorous and lengthy search process, we are very pleased to announce that we are moving forward with a new Bib Services Manager to join us as Karen Bar's replacement. Scott Brandwein will be starting with us on Monday June 20th. Scott comes to us fresh from New York City - he just moved to Chicago about a month ago. There, he worked for many years at the New York Public Library as a Senior Cataloging Librarian as a NACO-certified cataloger working on the NACO Music Project. He also worked for Media Radar, where he supervised a team as the Managing Acquisitions Librarian and helped to create a database and cataloging procedures for newspaper, magazines and advertisements. Scott received his BA in Music History from Oberlin and his MLS from Indiana University. We are excited to add Scott's cataloging, leadership, and technology expertise to the SWAN staff. *Resolved* SVA Phone Notice Outage (Yesterday - 6/16)

The SVA Phone Notice system is calling on the normal schedule now, and appears to have picked up missed calls from yesterday's notices. We'll monitor the issue throughout the day and send additional SWANcoms should another disruption occur. SVA Phone Notice Outage (6/16)

SWAN Member Library Staff: We encountered an issue with the SVA Phone Notice system yesterday that appears to have caused most scheduled notice calls to fail. We're currently investigating the issue, but should be able to resend any missed calls from the last day once the system is operating as expected. Today's calls should also go out as scheduled. We'll submit an additional SWANcom as soon as more information is available. SD WorkFlows training on Circulation User Groups --- similar to Millennium "Linked Patrons"

+++ Please route to appropriate personnel +++ Remember "linked patrons" -- Renee will be training SWAN libraries on how to use a similar (but not same) feature in WorkFlows called "User Groups" on Monday, July 25th. Are you interested in finding out how you can join your library users into a group? Then this workshop is for you. "User Groups" has been piloted by a SWAN library and will available on an individual library basis beginning August 1, 2016. There are a number of options to be considered as you implement User Groups - come to learn all the details. The different policies, levels of responsibility, responsibility types and access options will be demonstrated. The issue has been resolved and SirsiDynix support has already implemented a fix to prevent the bug from reoccurring. Enterprise logins are back online, and any offline circ transactions you may have had will be processed overnight tonight. Thank you for your patience as we worked through the issue. Just a quick update - SirsiDynix support has determined that the issue is relating to a runaway Enterprise harvest process. We're currently working to return the server to a working state and apply a fix to resolve the bug. More information soon!
