WorkFlows is back online and operating as expected. Please login normally and let us know if you experience any trouble.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation throughout the night and send further updates via SWANcom if any issues arise.
Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue.

WorkFlows Outage at 7:30pm on 9/17
09/17/2018 - 19:46 - by Steven Schlewitt
SWAN Member Libraries:
We’re currently experiencing a high load average on the Symphony WorkFlows server, causing many clients to disconnect. If you’ve been disconnected from WorkFlows, please proceed in Offline mode for limited circulation functions until we’re able to troubleshoot the issue further.
This outage will also impact SIP2 and Web Services integrated services, which includes Enterprise My Account features and item availability.
We’ll send additional information as soon as it becomes available.
Thank you.

SWAN Libraries,
I wanted to update everyone on the ongoing instability issues with Enterprise.
We continue to work with SirsiDynix software engineers and hosting support staff on the stability issues that arose in July. The software fixes for these issues require SirsiDynix's Enterprise software developers to create a patch (or multiple patches) for Enterprise 5.0 for all customers. Unfotunately SWAN has been hit hard by this bug. Until these software fixes are written by SirsiDynix, we have taken the following steps:
* SWAN IT is alerted automatically when Enterprise experiences any outage
* SirsiDynix hosting monitors for any unresponsive Enterprise, and will automatically restart SWAN's Enterprise
* SirsiDynix hosting has instituted daily restarts of Enterprise during non-business hours as a step to improve stability
* SWAN is monitoring all Enterprise patch releases for software fixes, and will prioritize these updates. We are on version 5.0.0.6 at the moment (updated 8/21), with 5.0.0.7 planned for 9/20. It is likely this resolution will require multiple fixes.
The issues are specific to Tomcat memory, which results in these brief 5-10 minute outages being random. Due to this, *we ask that library staff wait 15 minutes after you first notice the catalog being unresponsive before calling SWAN or submitting a support ticket.* The truth is we are alerted immediately and probably know it is happening before you do. We will only send out a SWANcom should the Enterprise outage last longer than 15 minutes.
The following support site post has been updated with this information:
https://support.swanlibraries.net/news/2018-09-14/914-update-intermittent-e…
We understand how frustrating this is for everyone. This situation is frustrating for us as well.

High load average on Production Server
09/13/2018 - 16:42 - by Ian Nosek
SWAN Member Libraries and Information Technology Staff:
Our Production server is currently experiencing a higher than average load.
This may result in some intermittent slowness in the WorkFlows client as well as messages indicating record locks or other errors.
We are currently working with SirsiDynix staff to identify the cause and rectify the situation.
Thank you for your patience.
