2019 SWAN Expo Annual Conference -- Registration is Open!
by Aaron Skog 19 Jun '19

19 Jun '19

Hello SWAN Members, Registration is now open for this year's annual conference, SWAN Expo (SWANx19). Our event will be held Friday, August 16th from 9 a.m. (8:30 a.m. check-in) to 3:30 p.m., again at Moraine Valley Community College. Please visit out event page on the SWAN support site for more information on this year's sessions and to register: https://support.swanlibraries.net/meetings-trainings/annual-conference We are using Eventbrite to manage registration, the cost of which is $30 per staff person. You will be asked for your lunch option during registration and receive a survey link in your confirmation email to indicate which breakout sessions you are interested in. This survey feedback will help us better plan room sizing and ensure we have space properly aligned-you will not be locked into your choices. If you need to have your library invoiced for the event, rather than pay by credit card, the Eventbrite registration allows for that. Just click under the payment options to get the option for invoicing. Libraries can buy multiple tickets (up to 10) and register all of the staff you wish to attend. If you have questions regarding the registration, please email Ginny Blake at ginny(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:ginny@swanlibraries.net> or reach out to me directly. We look forward to spending a fun and informative day with you! **RESOLVED** 6/3/19 - Indexing errors due to abnormal overnight processing
by Scott Brandwein 03 Jun '19

03 Jun '19

SWAN Member Library Staff: We have received word that the indexing issues have been fixed. The example records members have provided to SWAN all appear to be searchable and are displaying properly in WorkFlows, and the fix was applied to an additional 2,800 affected records. If you continue to experience issues, please send in a ticket. Thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve this. We have opened another case with SirsiDynix and will update this post when we have more information. This report has resolved the issues that occurred as a result of our overnight processing. This morning’s bibliographic/item editing freeze has been lifted. All normal cataloging activities may resume at this time. While the report has resolved the errors regarding item locks or ‘heading keys need to be indexed’ errors, searches in WorkFlows may rarely appear to display duplicate entries. We are still investigating this particular issue, but it will not impact daily operations. These duplicate record searches are also limited to WorkFlows and are not impacting Enterprise searches. We do expect this will be cleared by this evening’s regularly scheduled maintenance reports. If you encounter any further difficulties with records in WorkFlows, please notify us at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> so we can investigate. Thank you for your patience this morning. -- SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive - Westmont, IL 60559 Email: help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Phone: 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542) https://support.swanlibraries.net/ From: SWANcom <swancom-bounces(a)list.swanlibraries.net<mailto:swancom-bounces@list.swanlibraries.net>> On Behalf Of webmaster(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:webmaster@swanlibraries.net> Sent: Friday, May 31, 2019 7:33 AM To: swancom(a)list.swanlibraries.net<mailto:swancom@list.swanlibraries.net> Subject: [SWANcom] 5/31/19 - Indexing errors due to abnormal overnight processing Message from sender: [SWAN Library Services] Published on SWAN Library Services (https://support.swanlibraries.net) Home<https://support.swanlibraries.net/> > Add content<https://support.swanlibraries.net/node/add> > 5/31/19 - Indexing errors due to abnormal overnight processing ________________________________ 5/31/19 - Indexing errors due to abnormal overnight processing SWAN Member Library Staff: Please be aware, last night we countered an abnormal ADUText report, which handles our daily record maintenance and processing. That being the case, we may encounter record issues throughout the day until the next successful run of the ADUText report. These issues will most likely impact records that were added/deleted/updated yesterday and are typically in the form of “heading keys need to be indexed” errors in WorkFlows. You may see these errors when searching, modifying, or checking in/out the impacted records. We’ve reached out to SirsiDynix Support with hopes to mitigate some of the record issues that may be encountered, but if you come across these records, please email a list to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> and we’ll forward them to SirsiDynix for further investigation and temporary correction. Otherwise, all record issues should be cleared with tonight’s regularly scheduled maintenance. Thank you. -- SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive - Westmont, IL 60559 Email: help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Phone: 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542) https://support.swanlibraries.net/ ________________________________ Source URL (modified on 05/31/2019 - 07:32): https://support.swanlibraries.net/node/66681
