Brief WorkFlows Outage on 7/2
by Steven Schlewitt 02 Jul '20

02 Jul '20

SWAN Member Libraries and Information Technology Staff: We had a brief outage of our VPN service around 3pm causing all library tunnels to reconnect. Most reestablished their connections quickly, but you likely lost your connection to WorkFlows. If that's the case, please restart your WorkFlows client and attempt to log back in. The VPN may take up to 10 minutes to reestablish completely. If it seems to take much longer than 10 minutes, please send us a ticket at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. UPDATE: Nightly Processing Delay - Please Suspend All Activities Except Checkout/Checkin Until Further Notice
by Rudy Host 30 Jun '20

30 Jun '20

SWAN Member Library Staff, Our long-running overnight processing has concluded successfully. You may now resume normal operations in WorkFlows. Please note that we are behind in our normal report schedule, so it may take some time for any new reports to run. We do not expect that you will see any errors, but please continue to report any that you encounter by submitting a ticket to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>. Thank you for your patience and understanding. SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive, Westmont, IL 60559 Email: help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Phone: 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542) https://support.swanlibraries.net<https://support.swanlibraries.net/> From: Rudy Host Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2020 7:21 AM To: swancom(a)list.swanlibraries.net Subject: Nightly Processing Delay - Please Suspend All Activities Except Checkout/Checkin Until Further Notice SWAN Member Library Staff, We are experiencing a delay in our nightly processing. Until the long-running overnight processing concludes and SWAN has sent an "all clear" update, please refrain from all WorkFlows activities except Checkout and Checkin. We're investigating the reason for these long-running overnight maintenance reports, but suspect the issue is relating to an unusually high number of records processing through the update. Throughout the morning, you are likely to encounter errors until these reports have concluded including "Hatwrapper Exception" and "Records in Use." Additionally, many records may be unsearchable in WorkFlows by name, as this maintenance impacts our record indexing process. Should you encounter records with errors, please make note of the records and submit a ticket to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>. It's likely these errors will clear once the reports conclude, but we'll double-check to ensure that's the case later today. We sincerely apologize for the delays in this processing and appreciate your patience as the reports conclude.
