SWAN FY22 Budget e-Ballot reminder - deadline Friday, March 12th

SWAN Library Directors & Administrators- I just sent out a reminder email from the MyDirectVote service that is hosting our e-ballot for the SWAN FY22 budget approval. This email went to the 59 representatives of 100 libraries that have not submitted an e-ballot yet. If you are not receiving the emails with your unique login ID and unique passcode, please click on the link below and look for the "Support" link. This will allow you to open a support request with MyDirectVote to gain access. SWAN does not have the passcodes to assist you. https://www.directvote.net/myDV15/Login.aspx?e=1430 The deadline to submit the e-ballot is Friday, March 12th at 11:59pm. Dr. Seuss Enterprises Decision to No Longer Publish 6 Titles - strategies news post

SWAN Libraries, The recent news of the Dr Seuss Enterprises decision to no longer publish 6 titles has created a surge of interest in these 6 titles held within SWAN member libraries. We are experiencing a number of inquiries from library staff on how to recall titles sent out on ILL, or on ways to manage these titles in the short term while library leadership decides on the best approach (change to local holds only, change to local reference collection, etc.). We have some recommendations on various approaches within our Symphony ILS for you to consider. EBSCO remote access unavailable

SWAN Support Ticket System Issues 2/24 - 3/2

SWAN Member Library Staff: Due to an issue relating to an upcoming ticketing server migration, some SWAN tickets and replies submitted by you and your staff over the last week did not arrive in the SWAN ticketing system. We've identified around 70 tickets and replies that did not process correctly and we are currently working to restore them in our ticket system and review them. We've also corrected the issue that caused these tickets to be delayed. If you have submitted a ticket anytime over the last week, you may see a delayed reply from the SWAN support team. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and are working to respond to these missed tickets as quickly as possible. SWAN Quarterly Meeting March 4, 2021 Agenda & Packet Posted & Budget E-ballot Update

SWAN Library Directors & Administrators, The agenda and packet for the SWAN Quarterly meeting being held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. is now posted. This page also includes the final EBSCO database group purchase pricing for the 85 participating public libraries. The deadline to opt-out of the group purchase has passed, so we will now move on to approving the SWAN budget, membership fees, and EBSCO pricing. https://support.swanlibraries.net/meeting/82146 Details on how to attend that meeting are available from the page above-SWAN will be using GoToMeeting to host the event. The vote to approve the budget will be held electronically using the e-ballot system SWAN is providing. Those emails will go out separately via myDirectVote which is an independent electronic voting system. These emails go to the library director/administrator and are unique to those individuals. EBSCO Year-2 Renewal: preliminary pricing with 86 libraries participating

SWAN Library Directors & Administrators, Attached is the preliminary EBSCO group purchase pricing with 86 public libraries participating, with 9 electing to opt-out. Should your library decide to opt-out of the group-purchase, you will need to notify SWAN using this form: https://support.swanlibraries.net/forms/80756 The deadline to opt-out is end of the day Sunday, February 28th. On Monday next week I will post the final EBSCO pricing along with SWAN's FY22 budget. That budget, membership fees, and EBSCO pricing will be approved via the electronic ballot system recently used for the EBSCO year-2 renewal decision. We have 90 public libraries participating, with 5 electing to opt-out. See the attached preliminary pricing to this email.
