BLUEcloud Analytics Downtime on Wednesday, August 9th: Circulation Statistics Affected for Some Libraries

SWAN Member Library Staff: We have discovered that the circulation statistics reports for July 2017 are lacking transactions for some libraries. This is due to a failed extract of our Symphony history and statistical logs. To correct this, SirsiDynix will need to run a manual re-extract of our data today. Because of this manual re-extract, BLUEcloud Analytics will be temporarily down today, Wednesday August 9th, until later this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you refrain from logging into BLUEcloud Analytics until tomorrow when the extract will be complete. If you feel your numbers may be off, we recommend that you log in tomorrow to run your statistics once more and determine if the number of transactions has changed after the extract. We will also upload new reports to the SWAN support site Statistics page and send an update when this has been completed. Thank you for your cooperation. July Quarterly Billing now available

The July Quarterly Billing is complete and the invoices and checks will be mailed shortly from the RAILS Accounting Department. If you do not have access to the BCA reports, please open a ticket at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> and we will send you the Excel file. In addition, we will have a BCA login created for you and supply you with the documentation you need to access these files in the future. REMINDER: Charge/Checkout Wizard Stress Test

The setting to display existing checkouts, holds, and/or bills in the Charge/Checkout wizard will be turned on first thing tomorrow morning, August 8, 2017. Please let us know if you start to experience any issues with WorkFlows. +++Please route to appropriate staff+++ There is a setting in WorkFlows that will allow staff to see any existing checkouts, holds, and/or bills a patron may have when you view their account in the Charge/Checkout wizard. We will be turning this setting on for SWAN Tuesday, August 8 as a stress test. If you start to experience issues with WorkFlows Tuesday, please let us know so we can turn the setting off. The change will require a halt and run but that can be done rather quickly. When we first went live on Symphony, SirsiDynix told us this setting was meant to be used by standalone libraries and would most likely cause huge delays for us due to our size. As LINC and MAGIC both use this setting without any impact to Workflows (and they are not standalones), we want to try implementing this expanded display to see if the size of the SWAN database will slow down our instance of WorkFlows. SWANstravaganza registration closing soon -- lunch orders placed and plenty of menu options available

SWAN Member Libraries, We are excited to see many of you this Friday at Moraine Valley Community College on August 11 for our second annual summer SWANstravaganza! Last week, the caterers for the event have asked us to put in our lunch orders so they can purchase ingredients and plan out preparation. For this reason, we have capped event registration to 275 attendees (we currently have 249 people registered!) and have given the event caterers our lunch order, basing the quantity of each menu item around the current lunch orders and adding extras to each option. This means that if you haven't gotten your lunch order in yet, or can't remember what you ordered, you don't need to worry-there will be plenty of lunch options available on Friday and everybody will be able to pick up a boxed lunch in their choice. Just a reminder, these are the lunch options, each of which includes a bag of chips, cookie, fruit cup, and assorted canned soda: * Overstuffed Tuna Croissant- Flaky croissant stuffed with our famous tuna salad with lettuce and tomato * Chicken Caesar Wrap - Grilled chicken breast, romaine lettuce, shredded parmesan cheese, drizzled with Caesar dressing, wrapped in a tender tortilla * Caprese Salad Wrap (Vegetarian)- Fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, basil, and crisp romaine lettuce, with balsamic vinaigrette, wrapped in a spinach tortilla * Avocado Strawberry Salad (Vegan/Gluten-Free)- A delightful vegan salad featuring tender baby leaf spinach topped with fresh sliced strawberries, avocado, red onion, and almonds. Served with poppyseed dressing * Cranberry Chicken Walnut Salad- Crisp romaine lettuce with grilled chicken, bleu cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette with a fresh baked dinner roll * Santa Fe Salad (Vegan)- Chopped romaine, diced tomatoes, red onions, black beans, roasted corn, diced peppers, avocado, tossed with a lime cilantro vinaigrette. Good morning SWAN Member Libraries, RAILS is looking for an employee or board member from a RAILS academic, public, school, or special library to fill a vacancy on the RAILS Board beginning in October 2017 and ending on June 30, 2019.
