*Resolved* Record Indexing Issue on 1/23 - Database Rebuild Scheduled This Evening (After-Hours)
by Steven Schlewitt 24 Jan '18

24 Jan '18

SWAN Member Library and Information Technology Staff: Last night, we ran a rebuild of our database index to resolve the indexing issues that occurred on 1/23. Any and all missing titles or 'heading keys need indexing' errors should be cleared up as of this morning. All SWAN services are once again available. If you encounter any problematic item records, please open a ticket by emailing help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>. Thank you for your patience. -- SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive - Westmont, IL 60559 Email: help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Phone: 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542) https://support.swanlibraries.net/ From: swancirc-bounces(a)list.swanlibraries.net [mailto:swancirc-bounces@list.swanlibraries.net] On Behalf Of Steven Schlewitt Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2018 3:29 PM To: swancom(a)list.swanlibraries.net; swancirc(a)list.swanlibraries.net; swantech(a)list.swanlibraries.net Subject: [Swancirc] *Important Update* Record Indexing Issue on 1/23 - Database Rebuild Scheduled This Evening (After-Hours) SWAN Member Library and Information Technology Staff: After further discussion with SirsiDynix support, we believe we've found the source of our recent indexing issues and have determined that an additional database index rebuild will be necessary to fully resolve the issue. We've planned this database index rebuild for this evening (after library hours) with the expectation that it will take no longer than 3-4 hours. The rebuild has been incorporated into our normal overnight maintenance as to minimize the impact to our libraries and patrons.
