Greetings, All!
As some of you have noticed, this week patrons sent to Unique Management for their "Gentle Nudge" process no longer appear with a user status of COLLECTION. Instead, they carry a status of REFERRED, as they have been referred to a third-party vendor for additional contact in an attempt to recover overdue materials or collect outstanding fees.
This is a small change in word choice to preserve patron goodwill and foster a more positive service environment.

If you are interested in changing your four optional EBSCO databases, this is the time to do it! If we do not receive a form from your library, your current four optional databases will continue through the 23-24 year.

Hello SWAN library directors/administrators-
Today, the electronic ballot has been sent to 100 library director contacts directly. Each login is unique to the individual at the library, with only one designee as voter.

The statements for the four candidates are available on the electronic ballot. If you are unable to access the e-ballot or have not received it, please contact me directly and I will work to resolve the access for you. The email would arrive from myDirectVote (from Survey & Ballot Systems), which is the voting service SWAN is using for the election.

Good news, everyone!
Our new custom DebtCollect report is ready for deployment! This is the report that will write user statuses to REFERRED instead of COLLECTION, softening the language used to describe patron records who have been referred to Unique Management Services (UMS) for their material recovery service. It will be rolled out next week beginning with our two pilot volunteers, Acorn and Indian Prairie Public Libraries. Please be aware, if you are a UMS client, your placement report may be delayed by a day or two while we verify the report's performance in the real world.
The data team at UMS is aware of this project and will be working closely with us to verify accuracy of account selection.
Please open a support ticket if you have any questions or concerns about this project. An update will be posted later next week after we receive confirmation that the statuses are written and the files transmitted as-expected.

With our migration of SMS notifications to the MessageBee platform, SMS messaging through Symphony will be disabled today. It will no longer be possible to send manual SMS messages using the Send SMS Message wizard in WorkFlows.

Libraries are reporting they receive a "BLUEcloud Commerce is not available" message after patrons swipe their credit cards at the ProPay swipes at circulation desks. We have opened a case with SirsiDynix to have them investigate this issue. We will update the Known Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/issue/94201> on the SWAN Support Site as more information becomes available.
PayPal bill payment on Aspen is not affected by this issue; you can direct patrons there for bill payment until this issue is resolved.

We have encountered an issue with our MessageBee SMS rollout that is causing certain patrons to get some email notices via the MessageBee platform earlier than expected. This is an unfortunate byproduct of the logic that governs our notification reports.
