Our Aspen server upgrade is today. The catalog will be partially down for most of the day with about an hour of full downtime. You will see a system message banner in the catalog once the upgrade has begun and My Account features are no longer available.

Circulation Working Group (formerly Circulation Advisory) nominations are due October 21st, and the Circulation Working Group elections will run October 22-November 11. Sign up for Discovery & User Experience and E-Resource working groups by November 11th. No sign ups are needed for the Cataloging Working Group

Due to ILA, the decision was made to move the Cataloging Advisory meeting to Thursday, October 31st, after consulting with the Cataloging Libraries. The meeting will still be 9:30-11 AM. I apologize for any inconvenience this move will cause, but I hope more will be able to attend with the adjustment. This meeting will be recorded for those that are unable to attend.

We have been informed by ByWater Solutions, our Aspen hosting and support provider, that the migration of our Aspen production server was unsuccessful. Our server migration will be rescheduled, and we will update you when we know more.
The Aspen catalog is now functioning normally, following a brief delay this morning processing updates to item statuses and records.
We apologize that this process has not gone as smoothly as hoped.

We are excited to announce a new item category for item records in WorkFlows!
Item Category 6 can now be used to designate languages other than English. Several foreign language options have been populated in this category, and you can begin assigning them immediately.
Like all item categories, Item Category 6 does not impact circulation or hold rules in any way. It also does not display in the public catalog. It is meant for staff use only.
Item Category 6 is not yet available for reporting in BLUEcloud Analytics (BCA). SirsiDynix is working to add this in a future release. In the meantime, libraries may run reports for Item Category 6 in WorkFlows. SWAN staff can help set up templates for your library to run lists or circulation statistics reports if needed.
Please send in a ticket with requests for templates, questions, or requests to update parts of your collection with this new item category.
