+++ Please route to appropriate staff +++ Just a reminder that some of the SWAN staff are taking advantage of the close proximity of the SirsiDynix conference in Detroit to attend the meeting. The following staff will be attending CONSUGI from Wednesday morning until Saturday evening: Aaron Skog, Karen Bar, Kate Boyle, Renee Clanton, Samantha Dietel, Dave Pacin, and Steven Schlewitt. Please rest assured that there are SWAN staff available at Burr Ridge (from 7:30 AM - 9:00 PM) to answer any of your support questions and concerns at the usual support phone # 630-734-5153. SWAN Committee of the Whole Meeting: Agenda and Directions 5/13/14

SWAN Member Libraries: The next 2014 SWAN Committee of the Whole meeting agenda for Tuesday, May 13th at Prairie State College can now be found online here: http://support.swanlibraries.net/sites/default/files/meeting/2014-05-13/age… We will provide an update on the ILS migration plans, SWAN Board election, Business Plan and Ambassador Committees. This meeting will be held off-site at Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St, Chicago Heights. Attached to the email is a campus map. The meeting will be held in the Heritage Room in their new Conference Center, labeled building BCEC on the map. Parking will be available at no charge in Lots C and D. SWAN Member Library RFID Survey

SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff: Does your library currently utilize RFID in any capacity, or is your library interested in implementing RFID sometime in the future? Over the years, SWAN libraries have shown an increasing interest in RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) as a method to improve inventory and circulation. Seeing as there are a variety of configurations offered by third party vendors, and several configurations already in place at select SWAN member libraries, SWAN is performing a survey and inventory of those configurations with hopes that we might assist other member libraries in deploying future RFID installations.
