The upgrade to Millennium Release 2011 made some unexpected changes to how printing is managed. It took some time to review precisely which printing functions were affected.
1. We recommend Circulation Supervisors, Technical Services, and IT staff review the following documentation.

2. SWAN will bring the VPN network back online at 1:30pm - 1:40pm depending on your library.
3. If you have questions during your reconfiguration of the printers please call the SWAN Member Services at 630-734-5153, or phone our staff at any of their direct phone numbers.
4. Transfer your Offline Circulation starting after 2pm
5. Express Lane should remain out of service.
6. Report Server: attempt use and be aware of it might have some problems printing.

Continue to use Offline Circulation. We are preparing instructions for libraries for circulation managers and IT staff that will instruct how to deal with printer issues.
As a reminder: Express Lane self-check stations should be put out of service, as we have a number of issues that will be need to resolved.

Continue to use Offline Circulation.
The problem we are diagnosing are related to Millennium Circulation printing. These problems are significant enough that we are working with Innovative support to resolve them. Once we have a fix in place we will notify you via SWANcom. We have no estimated time for you yet.
We have also encountered Millennium Express Lane problems. Libraries using Express Lane should prepare to leave these out of service once SWAN comes back online.

If the decision has been made to close your library tomorrow due to the extreme weather please update the RAILS Emergency closing webpage. http://www.railslibraries.info/members/closings Sign into the form using your L2 (www.librarylearning.info) username and password. I will be updating the "Days Closed" table in SWAN based upon the closings that are reported. By updating the "Days Closed" table your patron's will not be assessed overdue fines for the day.
