This memo details a simple test that needs to be performed at your library to ensure preparation for our upcoming IP migration. This check must be completed successfully by Monday, March 24th. SWAN Quarterly Presentation & Membership Approval

SWAN Libraries, Today the SWAN library directors voted unanimously to approve funds from the capital reserves so that the SWAN Board can complete negotiations with SirsiDynix. In summary, the vote was 52 in favor, 25 absent, 0 against, 0 abstain. If you are want to see why this vote was unanimous, I have included the presentation from today that covers proposal from SirsiDynix that all SWAN libraries will get once we complete negotiations. This presentation goes over what SWAN will be getting, including full e-book integration into our catalog, mobile circulation for library staff using tablets, Facebook integration, a mobile app for your library, and much, much more! We will be sending out a memo next week regarding the PLA Conference to provide guidance to attendees on how to approach ILS vendor exhibitors. Since SWAN is still negotiating, it will be important to make sure we all understand how to visit the booths and what can be shared. SWAN Bibliographic Services Transition

I will continue working part-time and assisting Karen with the transition for the next few weeks.
