Hi everyone, Last call for survey tests! We’ll be closing the test server at 12pm. Thanks to those who have already submitted their entries – we’re getting a lot of great server data! -- SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive - Westmont, IL 60559 Email: help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Phone: 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542) https://support.swanlibraries.net/ From: Steven Schlewitt Sent: Thursday, December 13, 2018 9:00 AM To: swancom(a)list.swanlibraries.net; swantech(a)list.swanlibraries.net; swancirc(a)list.swanlibraries.net Subject: *Reminder* SWAN Server Environment Benchmark Survey TODAY from 10am-12pm SWAN Member Library Staff: Just a quick reminder for today’s benchmark survey between 10am-12pm. Please see the post below for the important details. We encourage everyone with access to WorkFlows to participate, and please remember – the survey tasks must be performed on the SWAN test server at sdtest.in.swanlibraries.net Thank you. -- SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive - Westmont, IL 60559 Email: help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Phone: 844-SWANLIB (844-792-6542) https://support.swanlibraries.net/ From: swancom-bounces(a)list.swanlibraries.net<mailto:swancom-bounces@list.swanlibraries.net> <swancom-bounces(a)list.swanlibraries.net<mailto:swancom-bounces@list.swanlibraries.net>> On Behalf Of webmaster(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:webmaster@swanlibraries.net> Sent: Friday, December 7, 2018 3:06 PM To: swancom(a)list.swanlibraries.net<mailto:swancom@list.swanlibraries.net> Subject: [SWANcom] SWAN Server Environment Benchmark Survey on Thursday, Dec 13th from 10am-12pm Message from sender: From the SWAN Support Website: Published on SWAN (https://support.swanlibraries.net) ________________________________ SWAN Server Environment Benchmark Survey on Thursday, Dec 13th from 10am-12pm 12/07/2018 - 15:05 - by Steven Schlewitt SWAN Member Library Staff: With the SWAN server infrastructure migration<https://support.swanlibraries.net/news/2018-12-05/swan-server-migration-sun…> just around the corner, one of the last boxes to tick in our pre-flight checklist is a membership-wide benchmark of the new server. That being the case, next week we’ll be holding a server benchmark survey on Thursday, December 13th from 10am to 12pm. The survey itself consists of a series of simple WorkFlows tasks that staff will need to complete and questions about the experience. It will likely take staff no longer than 10 minutes to complete, and while tasks in this survey are more circulation-focused, we encourage all library staff to participate and submit their own surveys. Additionally, while this survey is not mandatory, we would urge every library to have at least one staff member run through the tasks and submit the survey to ensure their library has the necessary network access to our new server environment. Additionally, we hope to have as many simultaneous users on the test server possible to ensure a high-volume system benchmark. To participate in the benchmark survey: 1. Anytime between 10am and 12pm on Thursday, open the FormSite<https://fs8.formsite.com/SWANServices/gpuetz1u0h/index.html> survey. 2. As instructed in the survey, open WorkFlows and login to the SWAN test server at sdtest.in.swanlibraries.net 3. Follow the four subsequent survey tasks and note your results. 4. Submit your survey. 5. Close/reopen WorkFlows and log back in to the SWAN production server (as you normally would) at api.in.swanlibraries.net Please note that SWAN staff will not be replying to these surveys, but we may reach out to you if further investigation of a response is needed. If you have any questions about the survey or encounter any issues, please send us a ticket at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>. by Joseph Miller 12 Dec '18

12 Dec '18

SWAN Libraries, We will be extracting the patron records for the NCOA cleanup tonight at 11:30pm-any patron records created after 11:30pm will not be included in the NCOA update process, so you may continue adding new patron records as normal. The update process will be matching the returned NCOA address information to barcodes included in the data extract. Additionally, overwritten "old" address information will be included in a note field within the patron record. As a reminder, the partial patron freeze will begin at 11:30pm tonight and the following fields in the Addresses tab should not be edited until an all-clear is given: * STREET * CITY * STATE * ZIP Joseph Miller Project Manager joseph(a)swanlibraries.net<http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m4wWk_u_P0XOUVHnL6u8jbQ.jpg> * (630) 326-7109 SWAN Library Services 800 Quail Ridge Drive, Westmont, IL 60559 swanlibraries.net<https://www.swanlibraries.net/> * catalog.swanlibraries.net<https://catalog.swanlibraries.net/>
