SWAN Member Libraries:
Our next issue of the SWAN migration newsletter, "The Journey Ahead," is now ready for you and your staff. You can download the PDF here: https://support.swanlibraries.net/sites/default/files/news/TheJourneyAhead0…
The answers for this month's crossword puzzle can all be found using terms in newsletter #1, so we hope that you studied hard!
We love feedback, so please continue to send any questions, comments, or concerns to us as you come across them. Much of the content of our material is generated by YOU, so if you'd like to see a topic covered next month, please let us know!
Also, as a quick update - our second series of bookmarks just arrived from the printer today, and if you did not pick them up at Quarterly, they will be shipped to you for arrival next week. I will post again once those have shipped, with a downloadable version for those who prefer to print their own. We'll also be sharing a "New Catalog Quick Start Guide," developed by Eisenhower Public Library, for patrons as soon as it is complete, likely within the next week.
As always, a huge thank you to the entire PR team for helping us with this content, and to you for lending us your staff members. We truly appreciate your support!

In order to improve the customer experience when placing volume level holds, SWAN will be standardizing the volume field information.
Effective immediately, the following will be standard practice for volume information entered into the volume field. Please note there is a space preceding the number in each example. All letters are to be uppercase.
V. 1
BOOK 1
DISC 1
PART 1
Do not add "set", "season 1" or the like into the volume field for a boxed set. This should be left blank for all sets cataloged moving forward.
Consultants from Innovative have begun work to clean up the volume fields in existing records. This project will convert any variations of volume, book, disc or part to the above format. SWAN Bibliographic Services staff will address additional volume field data cleanup post go-live.
Migration Memo #10 will be forthcoming with additional information.

SWAN Library Administrators/Directors:
The fiscal year 2016 SWAN Membership Fees approved today at the 3/5 Quarterly meeting are now available online. The fees starting in July will be 13% lower than this year! Read over the document "FY2016 SWAN Budget Information & Guidelines" for details on how that was achieved.
