In order to improve the customer experience when placing volume level holds, SWAN will be standardizing the volume field information. Effective immediately, the following will be standard practice for volume information entered into the volume field. Please note there is a space preceding the number in each example. All letters are to be uppercase. V. 1 BOOK 1 DISC 1 PART 1 Do not add "set", "season 1" or the like into the volume field for a boxed set. This should be left blank for all sets cataloged moving forward. Consultants from Innovative have begun work to clean up the volume fields in existing records. This project will convert any variations of volume, book, disc or part to the above format. SWAN Bibliographic Services staff will address additional volume field data cleanup post go-live.
