Early on in our planning for the switch to the new Enterprise catalog on April 14 we decided to create online instructions and video tutorials for the 1 million registered patrons in SWAN. We felt that using the existing support site would be confusing, as it is dedicated solely to library staff. So a new website was created for patrons!
The goals of the new website are the following:
* The audience will be the public, so avoid all the confusing jargon.
* The new website will provide a starting point for helping patrons, but it will be up to library staff to work directly with patrons when dealing with questions about PINs, accounts, etc.
* Keep it simple.
We are happy to announce the new website is now ready and is referenced on all the February bookmarks you will be receiving.

We chose the name "new" as it was an easy way to remember the site name. On April 14 the website will also work with the domain name www.swanlibraries.net<http://www.swanlibraries.net> and continue to operate under the "new" website name for several months. As more features become available to the public in the Enterprise catalog, we will use the website to help announce them and provide guidance.

This evening we shipped a package to each SWAN library via US Postal Service your first set of bookmarks for patrons. These bookmarks will help you get your patrons ready for the big changes coming in April.
A couple things:
We would love your feedback regarding quantity. The number we sent to each library was based on your annual circulation. Did you get enough? This will help us gauge how many to provide for the March bookmark. Send feedback to migrationhelp(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:migrationhelp@swanlibraries.net>
Keep in mind we shipped out the entire supply, we have no supply of bookmark #1 back in HQ.
