Reminder: Update L2 Accounts by Friday
by Rebecca Malinowski 19 Aug '14

19 Aug '14

Thank you to everyone who has verified their own account or cleaned up library staff accounts. If you haven't already, please remember to verify your L2 account and, if applicable, your staff's L2 accounts by Friday, August 22nd. Every staff member that should have access to SirsiDynix Mentor, an online learning system we will use during migration training, should have an L2 account by the end of business on Friday. We will use the L2 account information to create logins for SirsiDynix Mentor. To verify that you have an account, sign in at: http://www.librarylearning.info/user/login.aspx You can also recover a missing password or create a new account using the same link. RAILS has provided help files on creating accounts: For directors: https://www.railslibraries.info/sites/default/files/l2addstaffnew.pdf For individuals: https://www.railslibraries.info/sites/default/files/l2createaccountnew.pdf Thank you again for taking quick action. Your participation will help the training program get off the ground smoothly and without unnecessary delays. For questions about training or the migration process, please email MigrationHelp(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:MigrationHelp@swanlibraries.net>. Moratorium on Specific Service Requests
by Aaron Skog 19 Aug '14

19 Aug '14

SWAN Member Libraries: Last week I met with attendees at the Committee of the Whole meeting and the SWAN Board on Friday. At both meetings I outlined some steps SWAN need to take in order to accommodate our migration to new ILS software. Reasons for this moratorium are practical and strategic. First, as SWAN staff prepares the data for migration, we must deal with a set group of data that is as "fixed" as possible so that we can accurately target the new home for it in Symphony. Second, the preparation and amount of time our staff has dedicated to setting up Symphony is taking away time we usually dedicate to service requests from member libraries. Please review the attached memo as it pertains to services and change requests for Millennium Location Codes, Loan Rules, etc. If you have questions, please contact me directly. Please note, the deadline is August 22nd, as stated in the original subject line, not the 29th as listed elsewhere. Rebecca Malinowski SWAN Special Projects Coordinator 125 Tower Drive Burr Ridge, IL 60527 Phone: 630.734.5157 Fax: 630.734.5056 rebecca.malinowski(a)railslibraries.info<mailto:rebecca.malinowski@railslibraries.info> http://support.swanlibraries.net From: Rebecca Malinowski Sent: Monday, August 11, 2014 4:44 PM To: 'swancom(a)list.swanlibraries.net' Subject: *Action Required: Please update L2 accounts by Friday, August 22nd * *Action Required: Please update L2 accounts by Friday, August 22nd * As SWAN staff complete the profiling process, we are continuing to plan the training program. In addition to instructor-led training, library staff will have access to SirsiDynix Mentor, an online learning portal. Through SirsiDynix Mentor, staff can take self-paced online training courses on Symphony, Enterprise, and other SirsiDynix products. We will use the L2 directory to create training accounts for library staff members. Mentor will be a valuable training resource, and we want to be sure that all staff who will use Symphony or Enterprise have access. Please update your L2 account by August 22. Individuals may create their own L2 accounts, or L2 accounts may be managed by a library director or their designee. Administrators, please review your library's L2 accounts by August 22 and: * Remove accounts for staff no longer with the library * Create accounts for library staff not listed. If you have questions about L2 account creation and maintenance, please refer to the RAILS documentation, available at https://www.railslibraries.info/l2help/account For directors: https://www.railslibraries.info/sites/default/files/l2addstaffnew.pdf For individuals: https://www.railslibraries.info/sites/default/files/l2createaccountnew.pdf For questions about training or the migration process, please email MigrationHelp(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:MigrationHelp@swanlibraries.net>.
