At some point in the future, BlueCloud Analytics will be able to supply you with these statistics. Presently, SWAN is investigating another method of acquiring and distributing your e-resource statistics to you, but please continue to get your statistics from the vendor until we notify you otherwise. SWAN Events for July

+++Please route to Appropriate Personnel+++ I wanted to let everyone know the events that SWAN has planned for July. All of these meetings are in the Meeting Room at our offices (RAILS Headquarters). All of these meetings are now open for registration. In the future, we plan on scheduling User Group Meetings quarterly. First of all, we have a number of User Group meetings (click on the link to register): July 14th we will be hosting 3 user group meetings. You are invited to attend 1 ,2, or 3 sessions. The workshop that a number of people have anxiously been waiting for: July 21st Reports training - we plan on discussing and demonstrating the current reports module and introducing the BlueCloud Analytics report tool (if ready for prime time). For something completely different, how about an explanation of how Symphony Workflows really works (AKA SWAN Symphony GUTS Training). Learn about the tables, maps, and policies that drive Symphony. Extended info note in Workflows

+++ Please route to appropriate personnel +++ Everyone- As you may have noticed a few of your patron (user) records have a new message in the Extended Info Note field. The note says: "Please verify patron addresses due to the migration." This note was created in a patron record by Unique Management Services when they verified your patron at another address in the NCOA (National Change of Address) database. The purpose of the Note was to draw your attention to the patron's new address in their record. Hopefully, this Note will remind staff to verify exactly what the patron's current address is the next time they visit the library. Some libraries have asked for a list of their patrons (users) that have this added Note to work on the verification of these patrons' current information. We are happy, by request, to provide your library with a report that lists your patrons that need verification. SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology staff: Please be aware - we are currently investigating issues with the report functions of the Symphony WorkFlows server which will cause the WorkFlows client to crash when attempting to open or run anything from the Reports tab. This issue does not appear to affect any other functions of the Symphony server or the WorkFlows client. We will update everyone as soon as more information is available. Two language changes in Enterprise and Workflows

To SWAN Library Staff: We will be implementing two changes to wording in Enterprise, which will take effect tomorrow. * First, the user status DELINQUENT will now say ALERT. Please note, this change will also affect staff views in Workflows. * Second, the location "Standard shelving location" will be changed to Stacks in Enterprise. Please see the attached document for screenshots of where you can expect to see these changes. These changes will affect all libraries and all Enterprise profiles, and there is no action you need to take. SWAN received many comments that use of "DELINQUENT" was overly negative and off-putting to patrons. In order to change the use of the word in Enterprise, the change also had to be made to Workflows. Some library staff sent suggestions to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>, which were all reviewed by the Discovery and User Experience team, as well as SWAN staff. In the end, it was decided that ALERT encouraged patrons to check the status of their account, without a negative connotation, and without specifying in how their account is delinquent (items overdue, fines owed, or both). It was also reported that "Standard shelving location" was confusing to patrons. "Stacks," the corresponding location in Workflows, will appear in Enterprise instead of the longer description. The stacks location is the equivalent of the three letter location codes from Millennium (ams, bfs, wrs, etc.), and is shared by all libraries.
