SWAN Library Directors and Administrators:
We are pleased to announce the start of the 2015 SWAN Board election process. SWAN will have three open at-large position on the Board starting July 1, 2015. The SWAN Board is comprised of seven library directors elected from our SWAN member libraries.
Board member responsibilities include:
* Acting on issues affecting the long-term future of SWAN
* Monitoring SWAN's finances and the overall financial health of SWAN
* Maintaining open lines of communication with the SWAN membership
Since our open seats are all at-large now, any director can submit a statement of interest for this election. The goal is to have an open process and at the same time ensure that all SWAN membership is represented during elections. Any library director/administrator interested in running for the Board should fill out the form located at the link below:

The Self-Nomination Form will be available until Friday, March 20th at 5pm CST. Our election process will run for three weeks, from Monday May 4th through Friday May 22nd. The elected board member will be announced at the June Quarterly Meeting.

Attention SWAN Library Inter-Library Loan Staff:
As you are most likely aware, RAILS is undertaking a multiyear, four phase project to explore options to provide more seamless access to Resource Sharing (i.e., searching system-wide holdings and placing interlibrary loan requests) throughout the service area for all libraries. RAILS is currently in Phase Two: Research into Organizational Factors. RAILS is working with organizational consultant Eric Craymer, who will be conducting focus groups with various stakeholders.
This attached memo is for interested library directors and specifically ILL staff. We hope to have Interlibrary Loan staff representation attend the appropriate focus group session. Please register online in L2 by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 12. The maximum number of registrants will be 25.
