SWAN strategic planning events

Hello SWAN member libraries & staff-- SWAN is in the process of developing its five-year strategic plan, and we invite you to contribute your input on the organization's future direction. There are three upcoming in-person events at different library locations with facilitated discussions led by SWAN Board members Ridgeway Burns (Itasca), Jennifer Cottrill (Midlothian), and Zach Musil (Tinley Park). Hoopla Enhancement in Aspen – Update on Rollout

Hoopla Enhancement in Aspen - Rollout March 10

Dear Member Libraries, We are writing to inform you of an upcoming enhancement to Hoopla's consortia support within our shared library catalog. What's Changing Each library will have its own Instant collection, with settings visible and synchronized through Midwest Tape. Please note that any settings configured in Aspen will continue to override Midwest Tape settings. While this update changes how each library's collection is brought into Aspen, there will be no visible changes for patrons. Rollout Details This update is scheduled for March 10. No downtime is expected, and library services should remain uninterrupted throughout the transition. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. SWAN Quarterly 3/5/26 meeting - budget presentation & approval

Hello Library Directors & Administrators- We have our first Quarterly membership meeting for 2026 this week at Oak Brook Public Library, Thursday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. The approval of the SWAN budget will take place in person at the meeting, with a roll call vote for representatives from each SWAN member library. We have the budget details in the meeting packet.
