SWAN Member Library and Information Technology Staff:
After further discussion with SirsiDynix support, we believe we've found the source
of our recent indexing issues and have determined that an additional database index
rebuild will be necessary to fully resolve the issue.
We've planned this database index rebuild for this evening (after library hours) with
the expectation that it will take no longer than 3-4 hours. The rebuild has been
incorporated into our normal overnight maintenance as to minimize the impact to our
libraries and patrons.
The process is scheduled to begin at 11pm tonight, and we hope to see it complete around
6am tomorrow morning. Throughout the process, the following SWAN services will be
inaccessible…
* Symphony Server
* All WorkFlows access (cataloging, circulation, etc)
* SIP2 3rd Party Vendor Integration (databases, electronic media)
* SIP2 Hardware/Software Integration (AMH, self-check, PC reservation, print
release)
* MobileCirc
* Enterprise
* Intermittent access to My Account functionality
* Intermittent access to Item Availability
We’ll send an additional SWANcom as soon as the work has completed, which we expect before
regular library hours tomorrow morning.
Thank you for your continued patience as we work toward a resolution to this issue.

Record Indexing Issue on 1/23
01/23/2018 - 08:36 - by Steven Schlewitt
SWAN Member Library Staff:
We appear to be encountering record issues again this morning, specifically impacting any
records created/edited prior to 2pm on Monday.
These records are searchable/accessible in Enterprise, but are not searchable in
WorkFlows, and when located by standard number, they return the error, “Heading keys need
to be indexed first”.
We’re currently in contact with SirsiDynix Support and hope to have a solution by this
afternoon. We believe this issue and our issue over the weekend may be relating to custom
record work that is currently being performed by SirsiDynix, but we’re not yet certain.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will post updates to this support site post as soon
as additional information becomes available.
