Good afternoon:
We would like to update our members regarding the recent challenges with our nightly
indexing process. As you may recall, our bibliographic and authority service vendor,
MARCIVE, unexpectedly ceased operations in December 2024. Since then, we have been unable
to process our bibliographic and authority data according to our usual monthly schedule.
With the start of our Backstage contract on July 1, we resumed our monthly schedule;
however, this has introduced unforeseen difficulties in estimating the duration of our
nightly indexing process. We are actively working behind the scenes to identify solutions
that will allow the indexing process to handle the necessary data with minimal impact on
your morning reports and processes. We appreciate the patience you have exhibited over the
past few days and ask for more patience over the next several days as we complete the
processing of the remaining data. We may experience further instances of overnight
processing running into the morning.
The following processes will not be up to date until the overnight processing has
completed:
Expired holds on the holdshelf
Hold pull lists
Blocking of patron records for overdue checkouts at Fine Free libraries
Billing of items 42 days overdue
Autorenewals
Notices
Please stay informed by checking the NEWS posts for regular updates on our nightly
indexing status. We will be sure to post the all clear when we have finished.
