Last day for SWAN Board election

Hello library directors/administrators-- Just a final reminder that the SWAN Board election is in its last day, and the e-ballot will close at midnight tonight. There are four candidates running for two seats that will begin a three-year term in July 2023. The login and password was sent to 100 library directors (or interims depending) on May 8th via email through the myDirectVote platform, and a second reminder email was sent directly to the remaining voters May 23rd. Access to the ballot requires the unique login and password to view the e-ballot and written statements of the four candidates. 2024 Public Web Browser license available from RAILS

Unique Management Weekly Reports

Greetings, All! As some of you have noticed, this week patrons sent to Unique Management for their "Gentle Nudge" process no longer appear with a user status of COLLECTION. Instead, they carry a status of REFERRED, as they have been referred to a third-party vendor for additional contact in an attempt to recover overdue materials or collect outstanding fees. This is a small change in word choice to preserve patron goodwill and foster a more positive service environment. COLLECTION User statuses are going away

Good news, everyone! Our new custom DebtCollect report is ready for deployment! This is the report that will write user statuses to REFERRED instead of COLLECTION, softening the language used to describe patron records who have been referred to Unique Management Services (UMS) for their material recovery service. It will be rolled out next week beginning with our two pilot volunteers, Acorn and Indian Prairie Public Libraries. Please be aware, if you are a UMS client, your placement report may be delayed by a day or two while we verify the report's performance in the real world. The data team at UMS is aware of this project and will be working closely with us to verify accuracy of account selection. Please open a support ticket if you have any questions or concerns about this project. An update will be posted later next week after we receive confirmation that the statuses are written and the files transmitted as-expected. SirsiDynix SMS Messaging Disabled

BLUEcloud Commerce Is Not Available

Libraries are reporting they receive a "BLUEcloud Commerce is not available" message after patrons swipe their credit cards at the ProPay swipes at circulation desks. We have opened a case with SirsiDynix to have them investigate this issue. PayPal bill payment on Aspen is not affected by this issue; you can direct patrons there for bill payment until this issue is resolved. MessageBee Notifications - April 26th SMS Rollout and May Training

On Wednesday, April 26th, SWAN will migrate SMS notifications to our new MessageBee platform. Notification wording will change, but patrons will continue to receive the same messages they are used to. We also scheduled comprehensive MessageBee platform training and invite all SWAN staff to attend. This training wil familiarize staff with the platform, reporting tools, and e-mail templates. These are scheduled for early May so staff will have time to examine and request changes to e-mail templates before we roll them out in late June.
