Bibliographic record issues in WorkFlows

SWAN Member Library Staff: Due to increased activity last night, some of our normal overnight processing was not able to complete. You may encounter issues with recently modified bibliographic records when using WorkFlows. These will likely be records that were created or modified on 3/1/16. You may encounter error messages such as "heading keys need to be indexed first" or be unable to open a bibliographic record in WorkFlows. We anticipate that this issue will be resolved overnight and we will send a follow up email to confirm when the issue has been resolved. Tuesday Feb 9 SWAN FY17 Budget Meeting Agenda & Packet Now Posted Online

SWAN Library Directors & Administrators: Next week on Tuesday, February 9th at 9:30am the SWAN Board will host a special meeting at RAILS Burr Ridge for those interested in the fiscal year 2017 budget. Those fees are included in the packet, just skip ahead to pages 12 and 13 to look up your library membership fees. The meeting on Tuesday February 9th will be an opportunity to have your questions answered and to provide feedback to the SWAN Board. The SWAN budget and membership fees are approved at the March 3, 2016 Quarterly meeting by roll-call vote of participants. Spanish and Polish language notices

Everyone - As promised as one of the holiday gifts, yesterday we ran for the first time our notices in Spanish and Polish based upon the language preference in your patrons' user record. At present, we have 2,233 user records with a defined language of Spanish. In addition, we have 23 user records with a defined language of Polish. As a reminder, a patron's language preference for their notices is defined under the Demographics tab in the "Modify User" wizard. You can start promoting this service to your patrons and updating their records now. We are planning on adding further languages in the future. If you would like us to investigate adding a specific language, please let me know. We are presently working on Russian, Ukrainian, and Lithuanian.
