Live Streaming & Instructions for Quarterly Tomorrow 9/7

SWAN Member Libraries: As previously mentioned, at the Quarterly meeting at Wood Dale PL tomorrow Thursday 9/7 we will be piloting a new method of live streaming while the RAILS equipment is unavailable. We will be streaming via GoToTraining. This will allow us to stream to you audio and presentation screen-share only, so there will not be a live video component to this stream. However, we will have a chat feature where you can ask questions. SWAN Quarterly Meeting at Wood Dale PL - Agenda and Packet for 9/7 Now Online

SWAN Member Libraries: The September Quarterly agenda and packet (47 pages) for next Thursday's 9/7 meeting are now available for you: https://support.swanlibraries.net/sites/default/files/meeting/2017-09-07/pa… Due to ongoing construction at RAILS Burr Ridge, we are again holding this meeting at a different venue, Wood Dale PL this time. We are going to test out a new live streaming/recording option with GoToMeetings this time around. We are hoping to have any bugs worked out by then, but as with any new technology there is always a potential for slow down for this first large test trial, so in-person attendance may be best if you want to ensure that you do not experience any technical issues. Our IT team will email you instructions for utilizing the GoTo Meetings feature as we get closer to the meeting date. Have a wonderful holiday weekend, and we hope to see you next Thursday! BLUEcloud Analytics Upgrade Complete

SirsiDynix ran into an issue that slowed their upgrade to MicroStrategy 10 over the weekend but it is now complete. There are some changes to the appearance of BCA but they should not affect the way you have become accustomed to using the reports. The issue SirsiDynix experienced affected access to BCA and many of the DISCARD reports you subscribe to over the weekend seem to have failed. Please find attached a list of items, paged by library, that were checked out to DISCARD last week. As always, please contact us if you have any difficulties. SWAN Member Libraries and Information Technology Staff: We’ve received some additional information to clarify the reason for our outage. ICN experienced a large network outage at 9:35AM, lasting roughly 2 minutes. The cause of the issue was the core router(s) on their network reaching a route limit. They have resolved the issue and are working with Cisco to prevent it from occurring again. This outage likely impacted customers throughout the area, including individual library networks (ICN customers), and some of our neighboring library consortia. We have pulled User IDs from the notice report logs. If the same user should have received multiple notices you will see their User ID listed multiple times. The notices that were affected were: * 1st Overdue * 2nd Overdue * Courtesy * Hold Pickup * Hold Pickup Reminder It is up to you to decide if you want to contact your patrons for any of the notices, just make sure to check their records as they may have checked their accounts online or received a reminder notice in some other format and subsequently checked out or returned their material.
