*** Please route to appropriate personnel *** We have received notification from Riverdale PL that they are temporarily closing beginning on December 1, 2017. They intend to re-open the library on January 29, 2018. At present, they are receiving RAILS delivery and processing the materials received in their bookdrop. Their bookdrop will be available for patrons to use until Dec. 15th, after that time it will not be accessible. In the interim: * Riverdale PL has requested that SWAN suspend all Riverdale patron holds with a pickup of Riverdale. * Riverdale PL patrons that have placed holds and requested pickup at another library have not been suspended. * All Riverdale PL materials are not holdable. Riverdale PL has requested that any Riverdale patron cards that expire before January 29th be renewed for a period of one month as long as the patron is not delinquent. However, new patrons requiring a Riverdale PL card should not be issued a new card until Riverdale re-opens. Please ask them to visit the Riverdale library to secure a card after January 29th. Customize payment types drop-down

We are planning to make some changes to the list of payment types you see in your dropdown in WorkFlows: [cid:image001.jpg@01D356DD.BD7BBA80] The CANCEL payment type will be removed as it is the payment type used when an item is returned after receiving a bill. It will be replaced by VOID. The xxxBCC payment type will be removed for everyone; it is for payments made through Enterprise and should not be used in WorkFlows. Those of you that have had ProPay credit card swipes recently installed will retain your xxxBCC2 payment type. Additionally the following payment types must be retained: BANKRUPTCY, BILL_LIB, MISS_PIECE and PROPAYUPD. The rest of the list can be customized by you! Please choose which payment types from the following list you would like removed: ADJUSTMENT AMNESTY AUTOREFUND CASH CHECK CREDITCARD DEBITCARD FOOD4FINES FORGIVEN MIGRATBILL NONE PAYPAL REPLACEMENT If you do not reply, no further changes will be made to your payment types. Item Search and Display change

In advance of the addition of the New 19, we have renewed our investigation of the order that libraries appear in when viewing the "Call Number/Item" tab in various wizards such as "Item Search and Display". We were delighted to learn from SirsiDynix that there is now a way to do this, and we implemented it last week. ILL_LIBS Users unable to place holds in Enterprise

We have discovered patrons with ILL_LIBS as a library, including NONSWAN_RB, CHICAGO_P and Internet Access are not able to place holds in the Online Catalog. We are working to isolate and resolve the issue. Holds placed for these users in Symphony are not affected. Our sincere apologies for the confusion and inconvenience. Fee Formula: Request for 91 Public Libraries to Respond

SWAN Public Library Directors, Administrators Thanks for attending our membership meeting to discuss the membership fee formulas that are proposed for next year's budget. The SWAN Board on Friday last week reviewed the discussion from the meeting and would like to explore the idea of removing the bond amount from the property tax portion of the public library formula. You can report your bond amount using the online form below. We ask that you do so by Sunday, November 12th 5pm. You will note that the October Billing does not include any credits or debits for Unpaid Lost library material. This is due to the August, 2017 Circ Policy<https://support.swanlibraries.net/system/files/Members%20Only/Circulation%2…> revision Section 4.g: "Reimbursement for non-returned lost materials will be 365 days after due date and processed on a quarterly basis." Which effectively postpones reimbursement for these types of lost items until October, 2018. *Resolved* Enterprise Outage on 10/18

SWAN Member Library Staff: We’ve received confirmation from SirsiDynix Support that the outage has been resolved. It appears to have been related to an issue with the EDS (EBSCO Discovery Service) integration, which ultimately resulted in a crash of the Enterprise servers for some EDS-subscribing customers. SirsiDynix has corrected the issue, so no further downtime is anticipated for this evening.
