Aspen 22.03 Release

The 22.03 release of Aspen Discovery is now live. The effect is the majority of your have fees decreasing by a few dollars (except for Roselle, sorry Sam!). SWAN EBSCO year-3 renewal: this chart was added after the SWAN fees section. We now have finalized negotiations with EBSCO for the group-purchase increase at 2%, which is lower than the anticipated 3% increase. The chart is after exhibit page 32. EBSCO year-3 pricing & option to opt-out

Hello everyone, The pricing for the SWAN group-purchase of EBSCO subscription database package was presented at the Committee of the Whole membership meeting last week on February 1st. That pricing is included in the meeting packet, and I have pulled out that pricing which is linked directly to the PDF below. https://support.swanlibraries.net/system/files/Public/EBSCO/EBSCO%20FY23%20… This group purchase is going into its 3rd year renewal, which starts July 1, 2022. If you would like to learn more about this subscription database package, you can read about it on the SWAN Support page: https://support.swanlibraries.net/documentation/70949 This renewal will move forward with the current 84 participating libraries. Negotiations continue with EBSCO and RAILS to arrive at the final price for SWAN. The year-3 pricing we have shared with you already factors in a 3% increase, which we believe will be the worst-case scenario. One of the demands from EBSCO is that if a library withdraws from the SWAN group-purchase, it would not be able to rejoin at the discounted price. If your library is one of the 11 not participating in the deal, please let me know if you would like to be added back in, as we are still under negotiations. Those 11 libraries do not need to opt-out again if you wish to remain out of the deal. Any public library participating currently will automatically be included in the year-3 renewal. If you would like your library to withdraw from the group purchase arrangement, you can do that by submitting your library's opt-out using the SWAN Support site using the web-form below. The deadline to opt-out is February 18th, end of the day.
