Everyone -
As of today, Innovative has not been able to move the monthly statistical reports from the Production server to the Report server.
Knowing that this is a usually data included in your Board reports, we started last night emailing the reports to your generic library email. We are attempting to send these out to libraries based upon the scheduling of your Board meetings. A number of you should have received your reports last night. Hopefully, we will be able to get them all done by Monday evening, Tuesday at the latest. And there is always the possibility that Innovative will fix this problem over the weekend.
As always, thank you for your patience and understanding. Have a great weekend.

SWAN Member Libraries:
The SWAN Board has voted today for SWAN to enter negotiations with SirsiDynix. Negotiations will begin on Monday, February 10th; the SWAN negotiation team is comprised of myself, Melissa Gardner, SWAN Board President, and Rob McGee of RMG Consultants.
A formal report on the ILS decision-making process will be sent out to all member libraries after initial negotiations, hopefully the middle of next week.

SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff:
Please see the linked memo "Network Changes Memo #7: Network Migration Open Forum", and route to your appropriate library and IT staff. This memo provides details about our upcoming presentation and discussion event pertaining to the SWAN Network Migration. The event will be held online only, but will be a great opportunity for libraries to voice their questions and concerns about the final stages of the project. We hope that you and your IT staff will be able to join us, but if not, we're hoping to have the recorded discussion posted online shortly after.
http://support.swanlibraries.net/news/2014-02-05/network-migration-project-…
If you have any questions/comments about the event, or if you encounter problems with our Fuze Meeting service on the day of the event, please submit a ticket to the SWANTech Queue of the SWAN ticket system or contact the SWAN Help Desk directly at 630-734-5153.
Thank you again for your cooperation and patience throughout the SWAN Network Migration Project.

Everyone -
If the decision has been made to close your library due to the extreme weather or any other reason, please update the RAILS Emergency closing webpage. http://www.railslibraries.info/members/closings Sign into the form using your L2 (www.librarylearning.info<http://www.librarylearning.info>) username and password.
SWAN staff will be updating the "Days Closed" table in SWAN based upon the closings that are reported. We have added this task into our daily list of tasks in order to allow you to only report your emergency closing once. By updating the "Days Closed" table your patrons will not be assessed overdue fines for the day.
If you are planning an extended closing, please report that to our offices by phone 630-734-5153 or email help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> in order for us to consult with you regarding the finer details.
Hang in there, Winter does eventually turn into Spring.

+++This message is for libraries using ExpressLane for their self-check workstation+++

Everyone -
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during our upgrade.
If you are a library that uses the III ExpressLane product as your self-check and don't allow patrons to pay fines at the workstation, you can start using your self-checks now.
If you have a credit card scanner and have implemented Ecommerce at your ExpressLane workstations -- your Circulation Department has been contacted by SWAN Member Services to conduct a test of Ecommerce at your ExpressLane workstation.
If your Ecommerce test was successful, you can begin using your self-check workstation and allow patrons to pay fines at the self-check.
If your Ecommerce test failed, you have the option to still use the workstation as a self-check and remove the credit card scanner from the workstation until the Ecommerce problem is resolved. Or you may wish to leave the self-check workstation disabled until the Ecommerce problem is resolved. Either way SWAN Member Services will be working on resolving your issues with Ecommerce and will get back to you as soon as the problem is corrected by Innovative.
Thank you for your patience, please let us know if you should have any further issues at 630-734-5153.

Everyone -
First and foremost we would like to thank all of our SWAN libraries for their cooperation and patience yesterday during our upgrade. We did have a number of issues that delayed us in re-establishing your access to SWAN. Those issues have now been resolved with your assistance. Unfortunately, we were unable to get all of the offline files run last night due to high processing levels on SWAN. SWAN computer room staff are still working through the files and updating them one at a time. We should have them all processed this evening.
Once again, SWAN staff would like to thank all of you for your cooperation. In addition, we would be remiss if we didn't thank those libraries and staff members that went the extra mile to come into work early and start testing with us at 7 AM yesterday:
* Cicero PL - Vickie Totton
* Eisenhower PLD - Peggy Tomzik
* Elmwood Park PL -Ahren Sievers
* Melrose Park PL -Cindy Maiello-Gluecklich
* Oak Lawn PL -Marcin Truty
* Oak Park PL - Ian Nosek and the Material Services Dept.
* Prairie Trails PLD - Sheri Starr
Thank you all.
And as a reminder : If you should experience any problems or have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us at 630-734-5153 or help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> Please do not assume that someone else has reported a problem you may have encountered, SWAN staff would rather receive duplicate reports of a software problem then not be notified.
