Everyone -
Beginning on Sept. 22nd Novelist Select enhanced content will be added to the SWAN Catalog. Attached is a document highlighting the enhancement for your library staff. In addition to this documentation, we have uploaded to our SWAN YouTube Channel a short presentation for your patrons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sm0Qh4fVzs . This video is available now. There will be a link to this presentation from within the catalog implemented on the morning of the Sept. 22nd.
This enhanced content is being provided as part of RAILS support for SWAN and as such is free to all SWAN members. Before adding this content to the current OPAC, SWAN made certain that the Novelist Select product is supported by SirsiDynix and will be available in SirsiDynix Enterprise interface. Enjoy!

Everyone-
Attached is a reminder regarding the importance of every SWAN library and their role in the successful migration of SWAN to SirsiDynix.
Just an update on some general information on training -
We have over 1,800 staff members at our libraries to be trained in various aspects of the SirsiDynix software. All of these SWAN library staff members will have access to the online training component "Mentor" beginning in early November. Workshops throughout the membership on various modules will begin in February and continue through March. We will be announcing more specifics about training as dates and venues are firmed up. Realizing that weather could be a factor in February, training will also be delivered via webinars and YouTube tutorials. We will be using SWANcom as our main communication channel and will be announcing more migration information as it develops. Stay tuned....

Everyone -
Attached is the Excel Spreadsheet for Direct Loans among SWAN libraries for FY 2014 (July 2013 - June 2014). At the far right hand column of the spreadsheet there is a column listing whether your library is a NB - net borrower or a NL- net lender. As in previous years the statistics running across the page are your library activity as a borrower. The columns running down the page reflect your activity as a lender.
Enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who has verified their own account or cleaned up library staff accounts. If you haven't already, please remember to verify your L2 account and, if applicable, your staff's L2 accounts by Friday, August 22nd.
Every staff member that should have access to SirsiDynix Mentor, an online learning system we will use during migration training, should have an L2 account by the end of business on Friday. We will use the L2 account information to create logins for SirsiDynix Mentor.
To verify that you have an account, sign in at: http://www.librarylearning.info/user/login.aspx You can also recover a missing password or create a new account using the same link.
RAILS has provided help files on creating accounts:
For directors: https://www.railslibraries.info/sites/default/files/l2addstaffnew.pdf
For individuals: https://www.railslibraries.info/sites/default/files/l2createaccountnew.pdf
Thank you again for taking quick action. Your participation will help the training program get off the ground smoothly and without unnecessary delays.

SWAN Member Libraries:
Last week I met with attendees at the Committee of the Whole meeting and the SWAN Board on Friday. At both meetings I outlined some steps SWAN need to take in order to accommodate our migration to new ILS software.
Reasons for this moratorium are practical and strategic. First, as SWAN staff prepares the data for migration, we must deal with a set group of data that is as "fixed" as possible so that we can accurately target the new home for it in Symphony. Second, the preparation and amount of time our staff has dedicated to setting up Symphony is taking away time we usually dedicate to service requests from member libraries.
Please review the attached memo as it pertains to services and change requests for Millennium Location Codes, Loan Rules, etc.
If you have questions, please contact me directly.
