**CRITICAL** 1/30 - Symphony Reindexing - Cataloging Freeze

SWAN Member Libraries, Cataloging, and Acquisitions Staff: Over the weekend, we encountered several errors within our overnight processing reports. Malformed records caused our ADUText report to fail, resulting in the removal of approximately 430,000 records from our indexes. These records need to be reindexed before they're fully searchable. We have temporarily increased our maximum concurrent reports to allow us to rebuild the index without significantly impacting our daily report schedule. You may experience slower than normal searching throughout the reindexing process. Affected items are not retrievable by title or ISBN. They may still be retrieved by using a Title Control Number browse search. While the reindexing is running, we are implementing a partial acquisitions and cataloging freeze. You may continue to: * Edit any record that is fully searchable * Add, edit, or discard items * Run cataloging overlay reports that match on Title Control Number Please refrain from: * Running acquisitions and cataloging load reports that match on ISBN or UPC * Adding new bibliographic records We will continue to update the Known Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/issue/94068> as we have more information. Once we have verified that the reindexing has concluded successfully and verified database integrity, we will notify via SWANcom that the partial cataloging freeze has been lifted. Monday 1/30 - Record indexing issues still occurring

SWAN Member Libraries & Cataloging Staff: Over the weekend, our ADUText report, which handles our daily record maintenance and processing, terminated abnormally. We worked with SirsDynix to resolve the issue and although we made good progress, it appears we are still experiencing issues today. Nightly Processing Delay

SWAN Member Libraries, Our overnight processing is still running, leaving the rest of the processing behind schedule. That process includes: * Updating patron blocking for Fine Free libraries * Expiring holds * Auto-renewals Acquisitions and Cataloging: please wait until an all clear from us before resuming work. Re: Electronic ballot for Addison Public Library now open

Hello everyone- The approval to admit Addison Public Library crossed the required threshold of 2/3 of the membership with 71 "yes" votes. The ballot will remain open until February 22nd or if all 100 electronic ballots have been cast. I would encourage those of you that have not used the ballot system to participate! This vote will utilize the Survey & Ballot System, which sends a unique login to each of the 100 library directors or designees. I have sent that email to the 100 library representatives a few moments ago. If for some reason you have not received the email from Survey & Ballot Systems by this afternoon, please contact me directly and I will look into the administrative interface. It is possible to resend the login information or adjust the recipient. The full details of Addison's request and the SWAN Board recommendation is available on SWAN Support under a news post.
