Enterprise Outage - 11:55AM

SWAN Member Libraries: We are currently experiencing an Enterprise catalog outage. SirsiDynix is aware of the issue and is currently in the process of restarting the Enterprise service. They anticipate a full restoration in approximately ten minutes. I'll follow up once we have confirmed that all Enterprise services have been restored. Thanks for your patience. SWAN Burr Ridge Office Closed 2PM

SWAN Libraries: RAILS closed all of its facilities at 2pm. SWAN staff working at Burr Ridge have left for the day. Several of us are working remotely already and are prepared to assist in the event of an emergency. Calls to Member Service support at 630-734-5153 have been directed to our answering service. Gift #12 - COSUGI Member Privileges The Customers of SirsiDynix Users Group, Inc. (COSUGI) are preparing for their May 23-25, 2016 conference, "Fueling the Future" in Indianapolis. As a member of SWAN, you're also a COSUGI member and are invited to join us in Indianapolis this coming spring. Test out SirsiDynix products, learn about future innovations and hear from other member libraries as we come together to share information and resources. To register staff for COSUGI, library directors will need to get the COSUGI registration information from the "Director's Only Area" of the SWAN support website. First log in to the SWAN support website (using your L2 password) with this link: https://support.swanlibraries.net/content/cosugi-website-login. You can find the COSUGI website information, including username, password, and SirsiDynix membership number on this page after you've signed in. This is the information you'll need when registering for the conference. Gift #11 - I am happy to announce that the SWAN library membership will participate in a new service called BLUEcloud Visibility. This service is the "holy grail" of library search: once implemented, your library collections will begin to appear in search results performed by anyone using Google, Bing, etc. for authors, musicians, books, music, movie titles. Details on BLUEcloud Visibility can be found using the link to the SWAN support website below. Gift #9 --- Have you ever thought when searching for a patron "it would be so helpful if I could see the birthdate of this patron"? This can easily be accomplished --just open a ticket at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> and request that the Birthdate column be enabled in the User Search Helper. This additional column when searching is not only a time saver, but a way to accurately retrieve the correct user record. The birthdate column will be visible in "Display User", "Modify User", "User Registration" and "Copy User". This can be of great assistance when you are searching a common name.
