SWAN libraries -
The South Holland Public Library is currently experiencing issues with their local network. Their patron/public network is completely down and the only working phone number in or out of the building is 708-527-3150. They hope to have the issues resolved by Wednesday.

It was brought to our attention that there are times when an item that is on your Clean Hold Shelf Report cannot be found on the hold shelf. To ensure that these items are accounted for and not showing a location of InTransit when they are missing, follow the attached procedure. Please note that you should only check an item out to this user MISSHLDSHLF if it was on your Clean Hold Shelf report, and you have looked for the item thoroughly and checked with the patron to ensure he/she doesn't not have it in their possession.
Thank you

SWAN Libraries,
This is just a quick heads up. In our efforts to resolve some recent Enterprise issues, SirsiDynix is recommending an upgrade to the underlying server running Enterprise. This will result in more server resources supporting our system, but it will require some planned downtime starting at 11:59PM on Tuesday, August 1 next week.
We will send out another SWANcom email on Monday, with a reminder on Tuesday. The length of downtime is estimated to be 4-6 hours.
Thank you for your patience-SirsiDynix software engineers and the SaaS team have been studying our issues and recommend this first step.
For background, please read the following two SWAN Support postings:
Update on 7/10

Outage on 7/8

SWAN Member Library Staff:
The overnight maintenance report that had been causing item record problems over the last two days completed without errors last night.
The successful completion of this report should clear up any of the item record problems that became visible throughout Thursday and Friday.
We thank you for your patience while this issue was resolved.

Subject: [SWANcom] *Update* Error in overnight item maintenance report - 7/27, 7/28
Importance: High
SWAN Member Library Staff:
The same overnight maintenance report has unfortunately terminated with errors again last night. We believed to have resolved the issue yesterday, which was relating to a particular item configuration that was unable to be processed. While the item was corrected, the report error has persisted.
We'll be reaching back out to the SirsiDynix database support team for additional investigation this morning and will send an update as soon as additional information is available.
In the meantime, you may encounter error messages, such as "Heading keys need to be indexed" on a handful of items modified or created within the last couple of days.
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to resolve this issue.

SWAN Member Libraries:
One of our overnight maintenance reports completed with errors last night.
SirsiDynix staff is currently investigating.
In the meantime, it's possible you may see error messages related to items. Particularly items that have been modified in the last day. If you encounter an error message within WorkFlows, please open a ticket with SWAN and include the item or record that had the error.
These examples will be passed along to SirsiDynix staff to aid their resolution of this issue.
Thank you for your patience.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Green Hills PLD has been given access to place holds on SWAN. Please process and route as you do other Internet Access hold requests. Address item TO: Green Hills PLD and make certain item is checkout to them as they do not circulate on SWAN (please refer to the attached pdf document regarding processing an ILL request). I have also included an updated list of Internet Access Libraries.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Please find attached 2 In Transit reports. The first report (Item Library) is the one you are used to seeing on a monthly basis, it lists your items that have been in transit for at least 30 days. The second report (Transiting Library) sorts the items by transiting library. Follow the directions outlined in the "Processing the In Transit Report" pdf for both reports.
Next Thursday, August 3, we will begin reporting on items in transit 10-30 days and will distribute those reports on a weekly basis for shelf checks. We are in the process of compiling a policy and process for cleaning up the items that have been in transit for an extended amount of time and will update you upon its completion.
Thank you for your hard work and continued cooperation with this project.

There has been an issue with generic users being selected for collection when we run the report for Unique. To correct this problem, please review your library's In-House cards, Training cards, etc. to be sure "NO_UNIQUE" is the "Library Defined" for all users who should be excluded from Collection Reports.
To update these records:
* Use the Display User wizard to retrieve the record and select Modify.
* Under the Demographics tab, in the Library Defined category, choose "NO_UNIQUE" from the dropdown.
* Click Save and close.
