SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff:
While the Symphony/WorkFlows server is back online and stable, we continue to experience issues with the WorkFlows reports queue. We're currently working with SirsiDynix to find a resolution.
We'll update via SWANcom as soon as additional information is available.
Thank you again for your patience.

You may now resume regular circulation. The issues affecting Symphony have been resolved, and Workflows and Enterprise are now fully functioning.
SWAN will process offline transaction files centrally.

Subject: Symphony Not Responsive - Operate in Offline Mode
To All Member Libraries:
Please close Symphony Workflows and reopen in Offline Mode. Offline documentation is available on the support site at https://support.swanlibraries.net/system/files/Members%20Only/SWANTech/Work…
We have encountered an issue in which Workflows is unable to complete commands. SWAN IT and SirsiDynix are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will send updates via SWANcom and post to the support site as they become available.
You may continue to search Enterprise, but will not be able to log in, place holds, or see real time shelf status.
Thank you for your patience, and please watch your email for updates.

SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff:
As you may have been aware, SWAN patrons and staff alike have been struggling with intermittent connection issues with the SirsiDynix BookMyne mobile catalog app for several weeks now. This week, SWAN staff made significant progress in resolving issues with BookMyne, and we're happy to announce that the app now works consistently on both iOS and Android devices without significant issues. Patrons can now add their local libraries, access their library account, perform searches, and place holds on the SWAN catalog from any network, anywhere, as expected.
While the BookMyne app is certainly not as robust as the Enterprise OPAC, it can be suggested as an alternative to patrons that continue to experience issues accessing the Enterprise catalog from their tablets and phones. That being the case, SWAN will also be releasing a brief Quick Start guide for BookMyne that will cover the essentials of using the app, which can be shared with patrons. Watch for that documentation to be announced via SWANcom in the upcoming days.
As always, we greatly appreciate your patience as we work to resolve these issues.
Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Please route to Cataloging/Technical Services staff:
At the SWAN Cataloging Users Group meeting today, we introduced revised data entry standards for creating Pre-Cat records. These new standards are being implemented to improve the patron experience in Enterprise, provide improved searching in WorkFlows to minimize duplicate Pre-Cat records and to provide a higher success rate of record matching for OCLC records captured using SmartPort.
I have attached the updated document which has also been posted to the SWAN support site.
These are the changes:
Enter both 10 digit and 13 digit ISBNs, if available.
Enter standard identifying numbers in the appropriate field:
020=ISBN number
022=ISSN number
024=Standard number/UPC number
028=Manufacturer's number
245 field: Include articles in the title. Enter first indicator as 0 (zero) and second indicator 0 (zero) if the title does not contain articles or enter second indicator as appropriate for non-filing characters. See attached document for further explanation.
We have updated the brief title templates and these changes will complete overnight.
As a reminder, we do have openings in the upcoming August 7th SWAN SD Pre-Cat Training session. Please contact SWAN Bibliographic Services if you have any questions.
Thank you!

Everyone -
We have recently added two new buttons to the SWAN website:
* FAQ (which links to the Migration FAQ page https://support.swanlibraries.net/content/migration-faq )
* Known Issues (https://support.swanlibraries.net/content/known-issues ) listing Known Issues from the SirsiDynix website that apply to SWAN
We have removed the Forms button as it was outdated and redundant. All Webforms are accessible from the Tabs menu running across the top of the website.

Subject: [SWANcom] Reminder: *Planned Outage* on 7/8 at 9pm - Enterprise eCommerce (Fines/Bills Payment)
Just a quick reminder - the Enterprise eCommerece/Web Services maintenance is scheduled to begin in just a few minutes. During that time, eCommerce payments through Enterprise will be disabled until the conclusion of the maintenance, and there is a chance that account logins and library availability in the Enterprise OPAC may be unavailable briefly during the outage.
Please watch for additional SWANcoms for further updates.

Subject: [SWANcom] *Planned Outage* on 7/8 at 9pm - Enterprise eCommerce (Fines/Bills Payment)
Importance: High
SWAN Member Library Staff:
This Wednesday, July 8th, at 9pm, the Enterprise OPAC eCommerce payment service will be offline for a planned outage and system maintenance. During that time, the payment service will be disabled for patrons to avoid any lost/failed transactions. This outage will not affect any other functions of the Enterprise OPAC or Symphony WorkFlows.
We will re-enable the service following a successful conclusion of our maintenance. We hope for this process to take no longer than 1-2 hours.

SWAN Member Library Staff:
On Friday, July 31st, SWAN will be discontinuing all access to the retired Millennium Report Server. Library staff interested in historical item statistics to assist with weeding or other projects may want to run reports in Millennium prior to the Report Server being taken offline. After July 31st, there is no guarantee that SWAN can recover historical data in the "other fields" list below.
The two lists below indicate data typically used for weeding that we were able to migrate to the Symphony Server, as well as fields that we were unable to populate.
Migrated Fields
Date Created
Total Charges
2014_Circ (stored in extended info)
Other fields - updating in Symphony only after go-live on April 14, 2015

If you have any questions about the retirement of the Millennium Report Server, or need assistance in obtaining a legacy Millennium report, please contact SWAN Support at 630.734.5153 or email help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>
