SWAN Member Libraries & IT Staff:
Today is the final day to complete your Millennium R2011 Client installation and submit your Completion Report!
The remainder of our week will be spent reconciling installation issues or missed installations, followed by the server cutover next Wednesday morning (January 29th).
If your library has encountered issues and has been unable to complete the installation, please contact our helpdesk as soon as possible so that we can assist to resolve the issue. Otherwise, please ensure that your library has submitted the completion report, as this is how we will determine if your VPN connection can be restored following the upgrade next Wednesday.
Has your library already completed the client installation and submitted the completion report? You can check at the following link...
http://support.swanlibraries.net/news/2014-01-08/swan-member-library-action…
Again, thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout the upgrade process.

Subject: **SWAN Member Library Action Required: Millennium Client Upgrade Memo #1**
Importance: High
SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff:
Please see the linked memo "Millennium Upgrade Memo #1: Required Software Update", and route to your appropriate library and IT staff. This memo details your library's installation requirements for our upcoming Millennium R2011 server upgrade. Each library will need to update their SWAN clients and submit a Completion Survey by Monday, January 20th to ensure readiness for our server upgrade on the 29th. Failure to complete the client update and survey by the 29th will result in extended downtime, as your library will remain in an offline state until the client updates meet the required version.

If you have any questions/comments about the update, please submit a ticket to the SWANTech Queue of the SWAN ticket system or contact the SWAN Help Desk directly at 630-734-5153.

Dear SWAN libraries
It has come to my attention that the YTDCIRC / LYRCIRC move did NOT happen on the Report Server.
I will re-run this move tonight beginning at 9 pm and it will take most of the night to complete. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Any reports run after 12-30-13, using YTD and LYR circ will not be accurate.
The Production Server, however, is accurate.
Thank You and again I apologize!

SWAN Libraries:
We have received information from libraries that when deleting items, specifically when staff check to see if the item was deleted, a message confirming the deletion with the date "2042" will occur.
We have opened a support call with Innovative. At this time you can continue deleting items, but be aware of the message. If other problems should occur, you can open a SWAN support ticket at help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> or phone 630-734-5153 for Member Services.

SWAN Member Libraries:
Mary Lou Coffman has informed me that she will be retiring from SWAN on January 31st. Mary Lou began working at SWAN in 1994 within SWAN's Database Maintenance department and was a key contributor to the ILS migration from GEAC to Innovative Interface's INNOPAC. Over the years Mary Lou has utilized her extensive knowledge of catalog record data and other areas of the Millennium ILS accessible to custom reports. Mary Lou has been the "go-to" person for our member libraries that needed a better understanding of how data can better serve them, and has provided numerous workshops and one-on-one training over the years. She has focused on many projects over her tenure at SWAN, managing a wide variety of areas on behalf of the consortium, including the deployment of Millennium Patron Images and Digital Signatures. I am sure I might be forgetting something... she has done A LOT!
Mary Lou will work with the Illinois State Board of Education, focusing on the area of serving children within the autism spectrum.
Over the next several weeks Mary Lou will continue to coordinate our Release 2011 upgrade, among other projects. She and I will work to transition areas of our services she oversees.
Please congratulate Mary Lou and wish her well. I have included her contact information below.
