Hello everyone,
The Village of Oak Brook has issued a statement that its computer network was taken
offline after being a target of a cybersecurity
attack<http://www.oak-brook-il.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=633>33>. The Village as a
precaution has disabled the library's network and computers. SWAN is assisting the
library with an offer to utilize some equipment at our headquarters to be used by Oak
Brook Public Library employees at our offices for the purposes of checking out material
the library has been manually tracking, and processing delivery bins received. SWAN and
its computer network was not impacted by the cyber-attack.
The library does not know when the Village will resolve the issue as it pertains to the
library, but we wanted to alert SWAN libraries as to the situation. SWAN is happy to serve
as a communication relay to the library at the moment, but the library can be contacted
directly at 630-368-7706 if you would like to reach Jacob Post, Library Manager.
