To SWAN Library Staff:
eRead libraries may be familiar with the changes Baker and Taylor has recently made to Axis 360. The BLIO format is no longer in use by Axis 360, which appears to be causing an issue with Enterprise downloads via eRC. Users are still able to select Blio as a format from within Enterprise, but are unable to download or return the item from Enterprise or the Axis 360 app. This issue affects all SirsiDynix customers using eResource Central with Axis 360.
I've been in touch with the eRead team, who are checking in with Baker and Taylor. We also have a case open with SirsiDynix. We will send an update on an expected resolution when we have more information.

To SWAN Library Staff:
As outlined during the September Quarterly, SWAN is undertaking a six-part plan to improve the Enterprise experience for library staff and patrons.
1. Improve the Search Relevancy and Sorting
2. Visit Libraries on an Enterprise "Listening Tour"
3. Improve Enterprise Search Facets by Reorganizing Bibliographic & Item Data
4. Library Staff Engagement: "Tips & Tricks" Forums on Enterprise Searching
5. Conduct an Online Membership Survey to Assist with Enterprise Improvements & Upcoming Projects
6. Conduct a User Experience Study with Library Patrons
You can read more about the plan and the progress in each area at https://support.swanlibraries.net/news/2015-09-21/enterprise-update
Registration is now open for the first round of Tips and Tricks forums on Enterprise searching. Read more and register on L2 http://www.librarylearning.info/tags/?SWAN+Enterprise Due to the hands on nature of these sessions, we ask that registration be limited to one person per library for these initial sessions. We plan to offer additional opportunities to participate in the coming months.

Everyone -
It is the time of year when we begin the election process for the SWAN Circulation Advisory Committee. The Committee is composed of 11 representatives from SWAN libraries and chaired by myself and Renee Clanton. This year we have 6 people whose terms are up in November.
The election process is very simple. Any Circulation Manager/Supervisor or a person with oversight of the Circulation department may throw their hat in the ring (self-nominate). Everyone that submits a self-nomination form is included on the election ballot. All we ask is that you submit a few words in support of your nomination, basically why you want to serve on the Committee and what you see as your contribution to the Committee (what you bring to the table). Your statement in support of your self-nomination will be shared in the election ballot. All this is done using a survey. It only takes a few minutes to self-nominate.
Things you need to know about the SWAN Circ Advisory Committee : we meet 6 times a year (every two months), we publish our agenda a week before our meetings, are meetings are open to all, we are currently working on a revision to the SWAN Circulation Policy and discussing future training initiatives along with other Circulation topics.
The current Committee members with terms ending in 2015 are : Sheila Adams (GWS), Julie Lombardo (WRS), Cindy Maiello-Gluecklich (MPS), Samantha Millsap (HKS), Debbie Sheehan (INS), and Peggy Tomzik (ESS). These individuals may or may not choose to run again.
The self-nomination form will be open on Monday, September 21st. It will be available here: https://fs8.formsite.com/SWANServices/Circ-Adv-Nomination-15/index.html
Please consider joining the Committee. We would love to hear from fresh voices with new insights and perspectives.

During the previous Enterprise outage on Sunday afternoon, SirsiDynix support was able to identify a specific issue affecting our Enterprise OPAC server that appeared to be the reason for our recent instability. On behalf of RAILS Delivery & Facilities Director Mark Hatch:
RAILS has renewed our delivery outsourcing agreement with Continental Transportation Solutions (CTS) effective Sunday, October 25, 2015. One major change will take place with the renewal that will affect libraries in the Burr Ridge service area. Beginning on October 25, deliveries will take place from Sunday night through Thursday night and incoming materials will be available for library staff each weekday morning. For example, materials delivered Sunday night will be ready and waiting on Monday morning. This change will make it easier for CTS to process materials more consistently and will even out the delivery load. There will be no other changes to the service CTS provides your library and you will continue to process outgoing materials in the same way. Once again, this change will take effect on Sunday, October 25.
If you have any questions about this change or your CTS delivery service in general, please contact your RAILS delivery liaison, Demond Warfield, at 630.734.5142 or demond.warfield(a)railslibraries.info.

To SWAN Library Staff:
There will be a few minutes of Enterprise downtime tonight at 10 PM. At that time, SirsiDynix will be restarting the Enterprise server. The interruption to service should be less than 5 minutes.
The server is being restarted to resolve an issue with the delta harvest scheduler. The delta harvests should run every hour to reflect changes made in Workflows to Enterprise. You can read more about the harvest process on the support site FAQ page<https://support.swanlibraries.net/content/migration-faq#entgeneral>. As of this morning, the delta harvests are not responding to the schedule we have set for them, and SirsiDynix says that a restart of Enterprise will resolve the issue. In the meantime, SWAN staff will run manual harvests throughout the day. One recently began at 11 AM, and we will run additional harvests at 3 PM and 6 PM.
After the server is restarted, you will also notice some small changes to wording in Enterprise recommended by library staff and the DUX committee.
o On the hit list page, in the sort by drop down:
§ Publication Date (Descending) will be changed to Publication Date (Newest First)
§ Publication Date (Ascending) will be changed to Publication Date (Oldest First)
o On the detail display, the tab labeled "Available for Checkout" will be labeled "Copies"

SWAN Member Libraries and Information Technology Staff:
We've heard from several libraries that clicking "OK" does not always resolve this message for subsequent logins to WorkFlows. The reason for this is that the required patch files need to be downloaded and applied using administrator permissions.
The easiest way to resolve this issue is to simply run WorkFlows as an administrator. This can be performed in the following steps...
1. Right click the WorkFlows icon on your desktop
2. Click the "Run as administrator" drop-down option
[cid:image003.jpg@01D0EA54.ADB66A70]
3. Enter your computer's administrator password when prompted
4. When WorkFlows opens, login using any WorkFlows account
5. Click the "OK" when prompted with the Customized Wizards message
Running this process a single time will resolve the prompt for all users on that desktop. There's no need to perform this action different Windows users.
For IT departments having a high volume of workstations requiring the patch (instances where logging in as administrator may be unfeasible), please contact SWAN IT with a ticket (help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>), as we have an alternate method for deploying the necessary patch files to multiple workstations.
We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion over this prompt. We're not yet certain as to what server change initiated the patch, but any changes we perform requiring library administration interaction will always be pre-planned outside of emergency situations.

Circulation ---- Attached is a memo regarding the "Clean Holds Shelf" report . On September 8th, the report run by the SWAN Office will be changed to not trap any holds. This will result in a small change to the processing of materials in your office. We are making this change to the report to eliminate the possibility of pre-mature hold pickup notices being produced.
If you run your own "Clean Holds Shelf" report(s), you will need to update the Trap Holds tab in the report as described in the attached memo.

Enterprise service has been restored. There was an outage in the Midwest that affected connections for many websites and services, including SirsiDynix's SaaS products like Enterprise. ICN was able to resolve the issue, and Enterprise is now functioning as expected.

The issue with ICN is also affecting our web services connection to Enterprise. This means that while users that do not use ICN as their ISP (such as libraries on Comcast or users accessing the catalog from home) are able to connect to Enterprise, they will not be able to log in, place holds, or see item statuses.

The State Library has recently announced that the FY'15 ILLINET Interlibrary Loan Traffic Survey is now available. This survey is designed to collect your Interlibrary Loan and Reciprocal Borrowing activity for the period of July 2014 - June 2015. I have attached a memo that explains how to pull together these numbers by combining your III Millennium statistical reports with the new SirsiDynix reports. The deadline for this report is Feb. 29th, 2016, but I thought it best to get this information out to everyone while we still are familiar with the Millennium statistical reports.
If you should have any questions, don't hesitate to call (630-734-5153) or open a ticket (help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>).

Subject: [SWANcom] eRC Missing Collections
To All SWAN Libraries:
In monitoring eRC collections, I have identified five libraries that are missing an Overdrive collection. This appears to be unrelated to the issue earlier this week. The issue that started last week and has been resolved involved collections not syncing properly between the admin module and Enterprise profile. In this case, the collections do not appear at all in the admin module. SirsiDynix must reestablish the collection. I am also pressing SirsiDynix to identify a reason that these collection would drop from an institution.
The affected libraries are:
* Calumet City (CCS) - missing Overdrive Default collection (Media on Demand)
* Evergreen Park (EVS) - missing Overdrive Default collection (Media on Demand)
* Prairie Trails (PTS) - missing Overdrive Advantage collection (My Media Mall)
* Schiller Park (SPS) - missing Overdrive Advantage collection (Media on Demand)
* Thomas Ford (TFS) - missing Overdrive Advantage collection (Media on Demand)
To all libraries with digital content: please check your Enterprise profiles and compare the counts of digital content to the counts in your collections with vendors.
To confirm your collection's presence in your profile:
* Navigate to your library's public profile (catalog.swanlibraries.net/xxx where xxx is your three letter code)
* Select "Digital Catalog" from the search target box (first drop down)
* Click Search without entering search terms to see a complete list of your digital content.
You will see the total count for all vendors at the top of your results (# results found), as well as counts by Electronic Format in the first facet on the left side of the screen.
If your Enterprise profile counts seem significantly lower than the number of titles you have access to directly through Overdrive, Axis 360, 3M, or Recorded Books, please submit a ticket to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>. Counts may vary slightly due to the syncing process (for example, titles ordered yesterday may not be in Enterprise today).

The July Monthly statistics on the SWAN website (https://support.swanlibraries.net/content/2015-sirsidynix-stats) as initially posted were in error. One day of statistics was not reported in our initial reports. This has been fixed and the statistics on that page of the website are now correct. To All SWAN Libraries:
Please review the updates on BC Commerce below. Please submit any questions to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net>.
Fix from SirsiDynix
SWAN has received an update from SirsiDynix on the expected fix for BC Commerce issues. ProPay is completing the work necessary on their API, and will then send new documentation to SirsiDynix. The SirsiDynix development is prepared to receive the documentation, after which they will integrate the changes and begin testing the updated version. Justin Swain, who oversees BC Commerce, says that the work is "pretty close to schedule." SWAN will update the membership as soon as we are notified about SirsiDynix's next steps.
Updated Reports Documentation
The BC Commerce Reconciliation report can be retrieved from Workflows in an Excel workbook. The Excel file is much more readable than the format generated when you open the report directly from finished reports. The Excel file can be downloaded using the Fixed Format Manager helper from the finished reports wizard. The BC Commerce Documentation has been updated to reflect this new information. https://support.swanlibraries.net/documentation/commerce
ProPay PCI Compliance Question
We received a question from a member library regarding PCI Compliance and the SAQ-A. Should libraries be submitting this information? We reached out to Account Management at ProPay who replied: "SAQ-A information would typically only need to be submitted once a year. ProPay would be sure to reach out to those organizations who need to prove PCI compliance when that comes. Since all ProPay accounts with Sirsi are equipped with ProtectPay, they are already PCI compliant. For now, I would suggest that no libraries need to worry about completing an SAQ-A unless they are contacted by ProPay and requested to do so."

SWAN Member Libraries & Information Technology Staff:
Microsoft Windows 10 is here, and I know many IT administrators are excited to get it installed and running at your local libraries; however, we ask that you exercise caution when upgrading to the new platform, as it has not yet been fully tested and certified for compatibility with our version of SirsiDynix WorkFlows or the Enterprise OPAC. That being the case, abnormalities may arise, potentially in the areas of user permissions, Java functionality, and printing. SWAN staff will begin testing the new Windows platform alongside SirsiDynix as soon as possible and post any discovered issues to the "Known Issues<https://support.swanlibraries.net/content/known-issues>" page on the support site, but please know that until the platform is certified, we will be unable to troubleshoot issues to the fullest extent.
The official statement regarding Windows 10 compatibility from SirsiDynix is as follows:
"With the release of Windows 10 from Microsoft this week, SirsiDynix is currently working to ensure that all product applications and services are compatible with the OS and its new browser, Microsoft Edge. Our first priority is to certify Windows 10 for Enterprise, Portfolio, eResource Central, BLUEcloud PAC, e-Library, HIP, EOS.web, and Social Library.
SirsiDynix recommends that sites not upgrade their staff workstations to Windows 10 until it has been certified."
If you have any questions about WorkFlows compatibility or are running Windows 10 and have an experience to share, please email the SWAN IT team at it(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:it@swanlibraries.net>.

Hi Ian,
This is nothing pressing because we are still a little bit away from introducing self-check out here at SFS, but upon testing the self-pay module, it didn't seem to want to proceed forward to allow for a patron to pay for any fines. No error messages popped up, it just didn't do anything.
I was curious if there was any lines in the config files that needed to be changed so that this worked properly?
Again, this is not urgent at the moment, but if you can let me know at your convenience if there is something that should be added to make this work, it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
