We have further evaluated this consortium-wide console game limit and have decided to move forward with the Circulation Advisory Group recommendation to lower the limit to 5 checkouts. Starting tomorrow, patrons will be limited to 5 checkouts of each console game item type -5 CONSOLEGAM, 5 CONSOLENEW, etc.
It is important to use the correct item type for these limits to apply. SWAN will be reaching out to any libraries cataloging console games with an item type other than CONSOLEGAM or CONSOLENEW so the system can work properly.

SWAN-wide Checkout Limits for Console Game Item Types
SWAN has received multiple reports of patrons checking out many console games from various libraries across the consortium. While libraries have always had the ability to limit the number of checkouts allowed per item type at their checkout library, these limits vary across SWAN, and there has been no overarching limit in place that affects the entire consortium.
In response to these recent reports, we have set an overarching checkout limit for the console game item types - CONSOLEGAM, CONSOLEMAT, CONSOLENEW, CONSOL_SP1. Starting tomorrow, patrons will be limited to 11 checkouts of any of those 4 console game item types regardless of checkout library. The limit of 11 applies to each type - 11 CONSOLEGAM, 11 CONSOLENEW, etc.
If a patron attempts to check out more than 11 of any of these item types, staff will see a "User cannot checkout any more of this item type" message. This message can be overridden for unique circumstances, such as checking materials out to generic users like DISCARD.
We have run reports and found that only 24 patrons in the entire consortium currently exceed the new checkout limit of 11. These active checkouts will not be impacted, but the patrons will be unable to check out additional console games starting tomorrow. We will continue to assess a reasonable limit on these item types to balance patron service with reduction of abuse.

Please be aware, last night we countered another abnormal ADUText report, which handles our daily record maintenance and processing. This previously occurred last Wednesday, 6/23/2021.
We may encounter record issues throughout the day until SirsiDynix is able to repair the affected records. These issues will most likely impact records that were added/deleted/updated yesterday and are typically in the form of "heading keys need to be indexed" errors in WorkFlows. You may see these errors when searching, modifying, or checking in/out the impacted records. You also may not be able to search certain records via WorkFlows. A workaround for the record searching issue is posted in the Known Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/node/86815>.
We've escalated this issue to SirsiDynix Support. If you come across affected records, please email a list to help(a)swanlibraries.net<mailto:help@swanlibraries.net> and we'll forward them to SirsiDynix for further investigation and temporary correction.

The FY22 Illinois State Library/OCLC group services agreements are being sent via email this year. We have learned there is a delay in emailing the agreements. Expect to see your renewal agreements within the next week. As in the past, individual libraries sign the agreement with OCLC and return it to the specified address. SWAN receives the combined invoice for payment. OCLC membership is included in your SWAN membership fees.
If you receive an invoice from OCLC, please submit a help ticket with SWAN and attach that invoice. Do not pay the invoice directly.

Hello,
If you receive an email from EBSCO about a password change to the EDS API, disregard it. Please don't make the change. If you did, don't worry; send an email to help@swanlibraries to let us know. The EDS API password is the unique password that we use at SWAN to integrate EDS with Enterprise. We will change them before the expiration date. Here's a sample of the email:
The current password used to access your EBSCO account(s) listed below is about to expire. To ensure continued access, please reset your password before the expiration date by logging in to EBSCOadmin. Notifications are sent to all library administrators beginning 15 days before the password expires. Additional reminders occur seven days prior and then daily for five days before the final expiration. Once the password has been reset, the email reminders stop.
Important Note: Even if you do not use the Username and Password to directly access your products, services using the EDS API Integration, like Curriculum Builder, may rely on the password.

We are currently experiencing extremely long run times for the Book X12 Invoice reports. This began Friday after our 2:00 PM EDI Receive Report processed over 700 files, many more than usual. We have suspended all scheduled Book X12 Invoice reports to ensure all other regularly scheduled reports run without issue.
We are working with SirsiDynix Support to identify the issue and will resume all Book X12 Invoice reports once the issue has been resolved. We'll post updates to the Known Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/node/85839> as more information becomes available.

We continue to observe failed scheduled harvest tasks and are still working with SirsiDynix to determine the cause of the issue. In the meantime, we've been able to run the harvest manually to update affected records, so this issue is no longer noticeable when navigating records in Enterprise. Records should be current to changes made within the last day.

Additionally the Aspen Discovery harvest and normal overnight Symphony record processing are unaffected by this issue.
