SWAN Member Libraries, Cataloging, and Acquisitions Staff:
Over the weekend, we encountered several errors within our overnight processing reports.
Malformed records caused our ADUText report to fail, resulting in the removal of
approximately 430,000 records from our indexes. These records need to be reindexed before
they're fully searchable.
We have temporarily increased our maximum concurrent reports to allow us to rebuild the
index without significantly impacting our daily report schedule.
You may experience slower than normal searching throughout the reindexing process.
Affected items are not retrievable by title or ISBN. They may still be retrieved by using
a Title Control Number browse search.
While the reindexing is running, we are implementing a partial acquisitions and cataloging
freeze.
You may continue to:
* Edit any record that is fully searchable
* Add, edit, or discard items
* Run cataloging overlay reports that match on Title Control Number
Please refrain from:
* Running acquisitions and cataloging load reports that match on ISBN or UPC
* Adding new bibliographic records
We will continue to update the Known
Issue<https://support.swanlibraries.net/issue/94068> as we have more information.
Once we have verified that the reindexing has concluded successfully and verified database
integrity, we will notify via SWANcom that the partial cataloging freeze has been lifted.
Thank you for your patience.
