SWAN Board meeting 10/16/26 agenda & packet
by Aaron Skog 13 Oct '26

13 Oct '26

Hello SWAN Board members- The agenda and packet for Friday's meeting at Tinley Park Public Library is now available from the link below. https://swanlibraries.net/meeting/95166 The meeting agenda includes an action item to approve the SirsiDynix contract extension, but I do not actually have the final version of the contract yet. Once I have that document, I will email it to you all separately. We will discuss the Electronic Attendance Policy for the SWAN Board at the meeting. I have included the policies from Tinley and Itasca libraries, but feel free to share with me your library's policy and note any suggestions. Otherwise we can discuss the changes at the meeting. Additional note: our goal is to release the RFP document tomorrow! I will issue a news post and SWANcom about the milestone on this project. SWAN Board meeting 9/18/26 agenda & packet available

Hello SWAN Board members- The meeting agenda and packet for Friday's regular SWAN Board meeting is now available from the link below. https://swanlibraries.net/meeting/95140 I will be sending out the draft of the RFP document directly to you, as I do not want to have this shared publicly within the meeting packet, and inadvertently giving any vendors a head start on their response to the RFP. You will approve the ILS Search Committee composition, which I have included in the packet with our recommendation. The meeting will be held at Tinley Park Public Library in the second-floor boardroom. You will need to ask staff to provide you access to the space. See you Friday! SirsiDynix contract offer - 2 year extension
by Aaron Skog 17 Jun '26

17 Jun '26

Hi SWAN Board members & incoming members- I had an interesting conversation with our SirsiDynix sales representative Stacy Betts, who most of you met last month at the board meeting. He shared with me an offer from the company, which would be to rebate SWAN $100,000 off of the current annual maintenance agreement, and then offer two years extension with that cost savings with 3.9% annual increases. For background and a reminder: SWAN is in the final year of its two-year agreement with SirsiDynix, which would end April 30, 2027. There was a significant 6.9% increase at the start of that two-year contract, and at the second year May 1, 2026. I spoke with Zach about this interesting offer and we thought I should share this with you ahead of our meeting tomorrow, which we can discuss and gather questions about. SWAN is going to have to negotiate a SirsiDynix extension anyway, as we cannot search for a new ILS and then migrate by next year. This offer has arrived without my having to ask for terms like this one offered. See attached. I can explain the list of assets on the offer sheet, but the bottom line is what is most important!
