Hello SWAN Board representatives-
The agenda and packet for the meeting this week of the SWAN Finance Committee is now posted. The board committee reps are Tim, Jesse, and Colleen, and we will meet at SWAN headquarters on Thursday 1 p.m.
This budget packet is quite detailed and therefore has a packet page count of 75 pages.

I have included some questions at the beginning of the memo that came up during the drafting of the FY24 budget. I am sorry to say that I do not have a membership fees chart created yet-I am still waiting for tax data from the Cook County Treasurers Office.
You will see that the RAILS LLSAP grant award to SWAN was lower for FY24. I have included the award letter and a memo explaining why the grant formula lowered the amount to SWAN.
There are two SWAN policies included for discussion. I have nothing specific to change with those policies, but it is good practice to review them each year.

There are two agenda items for discussion that I have provided background on within my Executive Director report. Those two agenda items are a "leave donation/leave sharing policy" for SWAN employees, and the orientation & engagement of new library directors in SWAN.

I just wanted to make you aware of the survey that RAILS has issued as part of the search for its next Executive Director. The deadline to complete the survey is end of the day Friday, October 7th.

I received a jury duty summons for standby service for Wednesday, August 31, 2022. I will get more details tonight when I call the Circuit Court of Cook County.
I am alerting you all just in case I have to miss Thursday's SWAN Quarterly meeting. I have been reviewing the agenda and presentation with the SWAN management team so I think we will be set on our end just in case I have to be out.
