SWAN Board,
Attached you will find my letter of resignation. I did not want to spring this on any of you (tried to reach you on the phone) and I wanted to be present at the special meeting for this but am unable to because I will still be at ALA. I felt it was necessary to give before the special board meeting because the board will be starting to make decisions at that meeting. The letter explains my reasons for resigning. I am not going anywhere and you will still have a huge supporter and ambassador. I will be at the next Committee of the Whole meeting. I may also crash the lunch with the SWAN staff if Aaron and Brande will let me.

Hello all,
The SWAN team really enjoyed sitting in on the board meeting today, and would like to get to know you all better! We were curious if everyone would be available to stick around after a board meeting to join us all for lunch out here one day. Perhaps after the 7/18 meeting? I know David would not be able to make the 7/15 meeting. Does anyone else have any conflicts or preferences?
Have a great weekend,

SWAN Board,
I shared this list with Jim and Anne as part of our Ambassador Program discussion. I find it absolutely amazing how much turnover there has been recently.
Please bring this to our meeting tomorrow.

SWAN Board,
Last month at our meeting at Prairie State College, the SWAN Board discussed how we should handle consortia-wide decisions for the migration. The guidelines we decided upon were to focus on (1) policy changes, and (2) financial impact.
As the SWAN migration comes into rapid focus, I would like to have my management team provide you an overview tomorrow of the big picture changes.
I have asked Member Services Manager Kate Boyle, Special Project Coordinator Rebecca Malinowski, Bibliographic Services Manager Kate Boyle, and IT Manager Steven Schlewitt to join us at the meeting tomorrow.
Kate will present some of the big changes we could take within our new Symphony ILS configuration. Much of the big changes only came into focus this week when we received our first draft of the migration timeline from SirsiDynix. The changes we will discuss are big and involve the consortium taking a patron-centric approach.

SWAN Board Members:
The Friday 6/20 meeting packet is now available for you:
https://support.swanlibraries.net/sites/default/files/meeting/2014-06-20/pa…
The meeting packet is 125 pages long. The bulk of this packet is the final Bylaws document (already reviewed, just included to ratify the vote), and proposed discussion item of Employee Handbook revisions, which will be reviewed in more detail at a Personnel Committee meeting at a later date. We do not anticipate going past lunchtime, so no lunch will be provided unless we do.
See you Friday!
