This is a rather large packet as it includes the regular board documents, but also the survey summary, the RAILS FY20 grant SWAN was awarded, BLUEcloud Mobile pricing, and two sets of minutes (the September 21st meeting and the special meeting held last week Friday, October 12th). Dawne and I hope these minutes best summarize the discussion held on Friday.
I have updated Curtis Chang on the consensus achieved last week. He is arranging a conference call with me for details. The plan is for CWR to present remotely on Thursday, November 1st at the special meeting. I have updated our timeline and calendar accordingly.

I was in Salt Lake City for Consortia SIG the prior week, and then on vacation all last week in Wyoming. I still have to announce the Green Hills Public Library District vote to the membership. You will be approving/ratifying that vote on Friday.

SWAN Board,
The vote threshold of 64 was crossed midday Wednesday. I would like to have the Oct 12th SWAN Board Special Meeting have an action item to ratify this vote. On Monday, I shared a draft agenda for the Oct 12th meeting with Ted and Stacy, but it did not include an action item for Green Hills. The vote went so fast!
Joseph Miller and our SirsiDynix project manager are eager to get started, so I will sign off on the SirsiDynix project quotations for the one-time migration costs. The Green Hills board of trustees signed the SWAN agreement last week, so that requirement is complete.
P.S. We got our reimbursement check from Chicago Public Library Wednesday too!

SWAN Board,
The threshold of 65 in favor votes was reached today, with 9 against, and 22 non-votes. The SWAN Board can take action to ratify the vote tomorrow and it is on the agenda. This will set the stage for membership vote on Monday to accept the Green Hills Public Library District for full membership.
This approval took two weeks with several reminders, and a few direct appeals today with some of the directors today who had not voted.

This month's packet is 36 pages long. The agenda is ordered to have Curtis Chang present the CWR assessment, identity, vision, and mission in person at the meeting. We will have regular action items after that presentation.
To clarify: we are not intending to have an all-day meeting. Curtis has asked to present his findings to the SWAN management team in the afternoon.

Hi guys,
As long as everyone who indicated they are going to be there can be there, we will just have a quorum today. I just got off the phone with Rich, who is en route to a family emergency. Subject: Brande News
Hi SWAN team,
I have some bittersweet news for you. Brande Overbey has accepted a new full-time position as the Community Relations Director for Anderson Animal Shelters, and has submitted a resignation from her position here at SWAN.
I have made arrangements to transition Brande's duties temporarily within SWAN's administration. I will utilize Brande for a few hours weekly over the next month or so, along with HR Source (formerly Management Association). I will share more details when they become available, such as the HR consultant that SWAN will contract with. The day that Brande steps down from her full-time role at SWAN is Monday, August 21.
Brande and I have worked together for the past 5 years. She was instrumental in helping us bring our organization out of the period of independence and into the one that makes SWAN fun to work in today. She was key in getting us into our new facility, and helping us with whatever project arose along the way.
Over these next two weeks, Dawne and I will work with her to make sure we have all of our internal operations covered and ready for her last day full-time.
Please wish her the best of luck at her new position. She will get to work with dogs and sloths (and people)!
