I agree that letters from Dee and David would be helpful to the consortium
as a whole. One might emphasize the fiscal responsibility of our libraries
in spreading the use of purchases around rather than using our tax payers'
money to double down on only popular items. Oh, and their public will have
to borrow from us if they want books by Cong. Paul Ryan or Eric Cantor...
I understand the drive for more local input in the system. I just don't
think you should accomplish your personal goals at the expense of the
public. BTW, Frankfort was up 4% Nov '12 vs Nov '13.

Aaron et al,
I think that including a statement from a public library director would

SWAN Board:
In case some of you have missed the article, I thought I would share with
you the Chicago Tribune article which noted the large increase in
circulation.

SWAN of course was mentioned in it, negatively of course. They cannot
resist that.
The RAILS Leadership team felt that it portrayed consortium in a bad
light, so Dee suggested she write a letter to the editor about the topic of
resource sharing. I offered to help with the letter. Dee also was thinking
that it would be good to have a letter from a SWAN library director. Any
thoughts on if a letter should be sent or if we should approach a library
director. Dee was thinking of David Seleb, mostly because of a large public
library joining SWAN.
