In regards to parking at Thomas Ford next week, Anne Kozak has provided this helpful instruction:
Please park in the Grand Avenue School lot (NW corner of Chestnut and Lawn), on Lawn Avenue north or south of Chestnut, or on Chestnut west of Lawn. Spots in front of the Library are 30 minute parking and randomly enforced.

Hello SWAN Board:
As we've shared with you at the previous Board meeting, we have a Strategic Planning event coming up next Wednesday, 6/1 at Thomas Ford Public Library (thanks Anne!). Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided during this event, which the SWAN staff will also be attending (apologies in advance; I will not be in attendance as I had a previously scheduled conflict that could not be rescheduled). Kathryn Deiss will be facilitating the event for us. I'll be placing a food order next week, so please let me know if you have any food allergies or concerns that I should be aware of and am not already. I will likely order from Corner Bakery again, since I know this is typically a safe bet with our staff and that their food is consistently good (and healthy).
We hope for a fun and productive event next week and are grateful for your participation in helping us to formulate a new Strategic Plan! Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Hello SWAN Board:
The 2016 election polls have closed, and as anticipated we have three winners for our three open seats: Doug Losey, Kristina Howard, and Tiffany Verzani. I've notified all three via email and will send out a SWANcom in the morning to let the membership know as well. I've invited Tiffany to join us at our June Board meeting as well. SWAN Board:
Attached is the packet of information for the agenda item #8 "Approve Letter of Intent for New Facility." Due to the fact that negotiations with three facility providers are ongoing, we did not want to include this information in the packet.
This packet has comparison of three facilities we chose as finalists on the first 3 pages. Brande and I will walk you through this, and why we are recommending Quail Ridge as our choice. The pages 6 and 7 are the "Letter of Intent" which should you approve moving forward with an independent facility, would be signed by the board president. The letter is not legally binding but it allows us to move forward with negotiating a lease. Our attorney would be part of that lease negotiation process.
I delayed sending this information to you all to allow Steven in IT to complete inquiries into the internet service for the three locations. We can outline that tomorrow. Keep in mind that all three companies are interested in SWAN's decision, so it is certainly within the realm of possibility that we might have a visitor at the meeting tomorrow.

Hi SWAN Board & SWAN Staff:
I am arranging for a one day event for SWAN staff and the SWAN Board to come together for a strategic planning session. I have planned for a facilitator for the event, and lunch will be included. The purpose of the meeting is to come together for a strategic directions conversation. SWAN has some big changes ahead of us, so coming together to talk about them is very important.
The three dates will be sent out in a Doodle poll email, which you will see are all in the same week. My preference is to have our meeting on a day prior to the Thursday, June 2nd SWAN Quarterly meeting. I believe this will help us be better prepared to talk with the member libraries, and work towards an updated two year plan.
